Bipartisan agreement. They oppose the Wall.

Quote:
“Eight congressional representatives serve the districts that line the 2,000-mile southern border. They are men, women, freshman politicians and Washington veterans. The Democrats among them span liberal ideologies, while one of them is a Republican.”

“But they all have one thing in common: each is against President Trump’s border wall.”

This reminds me of the survey that showed that opposition to illegal immigration is strongest in homogenous small towns and rural areas that have the least contact with immigrants overall.

I would be inclined to accept the Wall supporter's position if they were able to acknowledge that Republican politicians enabled this problem.

The Republican party taking over Texas was helped enormously by builders who used illegals paid under the table. Nobody looked past the next quarter.

John Cornyn has proved himself to be a hoar.

Beto should forget about running for POTUS and take on Cornyn. I'll send him my grandkids inheritance.

I still want to know what has changed in America that has many in favor of illegal immigration?
On the way home I was listening to Howie Carr, a local Right Wing talk show and he was playing clips that featured Hillary and Bill, Chuck Schummer, Pelosi, Biden, Harry Reid and Bernie Sanders and they were all in one way or another telling us how bad illegal immigration is and how we need to do something to stop it. Bernie was talking about how illegal immigration drives wages down for Americans. Harry Reid was talking about how ridiculous it is that a woman can come here, have a baby and that baby has all the Rights that a citizen is granted. It went on and on.

Why have the Dems changed their tune? They used to have common sense and wanted to stop illegal immigration but now they seem to be Ok with it. Do they really hate Trump that much. I feel that if he was for it they would be against it.

Folks are not "in favor of illegal immigration" or "open borders" either.

We are against spending billions on a stupid wall that won't work.

Mandatory E-Verify. Employer penalties. ... There are strategies that actually work.

Our national debt is already growing by trillions during a time of prosperity. Why spend money foolishly?
