159 billion in "health and human service spending" but yet typhus outbreaks, massive hepatitis outbreaks in San Diego, Medi-Cal which is seniors and disabled can barely utilize because of tiny reimbursement rates.

For 159 billion dollars of tax payer money, Gavin Newsom's California offers welfare programs that are so bad and neglect the states residents so much that infectious disease runs rampant, open-air drug use is ignored and addicts fall through the cracks left and right instead of robust treatment programs.

Despite the 159 billion dollar spending spree for the health and human industrial complex in California, they have a whopping 134,000 homeless as opposed to ultra-progressive Mississippi that has only 1,400 without a place to sleep at night and 873 in Wyoming a state that takes care of it's own residents without intrusive individual income tax schemes and worthless corporate income taxes that cause recessions.

Overwhelmed California can only afford to pay 41% of Medicare rates for primary care visits as opposed to 127% Medicare rates in Alaska and 100% Medicare rates in North Dakota.

Amazing how many third-world countries spend pennies on the dollar of what California does but has incredibly robust safety-net's in comparison as opposed to California where health and human service spending consists of making state union employees rich with Cadillac health care and pensions that will in many cases need to be paid out for decades.

It's going to be interesting to see how this shakes out and what's actually going to happen to the State of CA.

Point out a conservative state that is doing well. Better yet point out a conservative state. Just one. Keep in mind conservatives believe in lowering government spending and no state debt.

It is quite obvious what's going to happen to California - eventually.

You are mixing up a lot. Read (why poster do not read the article they post is beyond me) and understand what you post. Some of your concerns are addressed.

Why do you always compare a states with low populations to California? I realize we all have different cognitive abilities but this is pretty basic stuff. Do you understand the difference between 40 million and 800,000? Is there a difference? Can you articulate why or why not?

Also, concentrate on one subject at a time. Your message above is mixing up a lot. Break down your concerns and learn how to relate them - if possible. Most importantly for most of the posters here - read article you post. If you do not understand then don't post it or post it and ask for an explanation. Good luck.

What a joke of a thread.

California is No. 5 in the world in GDP. We are No. 1 in the U.S. in economic output. And California is No. 1 in manufacturing. "Third World" my a--.

Homelessness is a national problem. What's Trump doing about it?

Our state budget is in surplus and our debts our being paid down.

Fact is, the country needs California more than California needs the country.

Why does California have a 159 billion health and human service budget but yet a third-world social safety net?

Obviously lots of fraud in that 159 billion of welfare spending, much of coming from hard-working taxpayers in middle-America.

Would be a dream come true is the federal government suspended federal welfare expenditures, aid and grants to California.

What is tragic is that hard-working taxpayers across America are subsidizing California's social experiments that just into the pockets of the unions, big paychecks and cadillac pensions and healthcare benefits for people who show up to their cushy jobs that serve no purpose except to make them rich and laugh at the taxpayers.

Why don't they eliminate state and corporate income taxes in California like they do in Alaska and Wyoming.

They have tremendous socialist level taxes but seems as though they have third-world results.

Why aren't treatment programs available for people who are injecting heroin into their arms in public all throughout public places in San Francisco?

Seems like Los Angeles is just going to ignore the homeless situation until they have a very serious public health outbreak that economically cripples the city.

The state budgets 159 billion on health and welfare programs but yet people risk Typhus if they visit certain areas of the city where sanitation levels are lower than some of the poorest countries on earth

I was in San Diego a while back and people have been advised to tap the signs across the street with the sole of their shoe to avoid to hepatitis.

Wait, you think California should eliminate state and corporate taxes but you also support a better social safety net? How would the state pay for this safety net if it weren't for taxes? CA has a GDP of $2.4 trillion. You are fond of comparing North Dakota to CA which has a GDP of $27.7 billion. Middle America is not subsidizing CA. It is the other way around.

North Dakota has a GDP of 52 billion dollars, not 27 billion dollars

Odd, how Californians never adjust it GDP per-capita purchasing-power parity.

Per-capita income:

Higher in Republican Wyoming and Republican North Dakota than Democratic California

People have much higher levels of disposable income in North Dakota and Alaska with their much higher per-capita incomes.

California $33,000
Wyoming $35,000
North Dakota $34,000

Median mortgage payment:
California $2,200
North Dakota $1,300

Retail sales per capita
California $12,000
Alaska $14,000
North Dakota $22,000

Homeownership:
California 55%
North Dakota 63%
Wyoming 64%
