Again, thank the leftist leaders of Hollywood for this too. If these are our cultural leaders, we are in fact culturally doomed.

As far as the movies with implausible male characters, which generally include excesses characterized by "gratuitous sex and violence," these have pretty consistently been regarded as bad movies by people with any sense of what makes a good story or a good character.

If you want to see porn, go see porn I guess, but we really did not need to spoil our television and our movies with the kind of pornish sexual conduct or the excessive, gratuitous violence that has become standard fare over the last 30 years. We can again thank our "cultural leaders" in Hollywood for that.

People have complained about Hollywood pushing this stuff so aggressively and so excessively for a long time, as I am sure you are well aware. I would certainly recommend that they stop doing it. Good story telling does not require it and in fact it takes away from good story telling. And that is true regardless of whether the lead characters are male or female.

The cultural agenda that these people in Hollywood have been sowing for a long time in our society and in our culture is now being reaped. Are the fruits being produced by this evil any real surprise?
Perfect example of "I can think of no good argument so I'll change the subject. Hopefully if I use enough words no one will notice."

Got it.

You people are beyond sad.
By "you people" I suspect you are referring to older white males more specifically. They seem to have a lot of heartburn about a lot of things as if they haven't always been "on top of the mountain" in most respects all along and still today. Embarrassing for me to observe as an older white male myself...

Good question!

My guess? "Virtue signaling" is bad when virtues are attributed to anyone who isn't a white male. Can't have that! "Wonder Woman," for example, virtue signaling, very bad.

Reading some of these comments posted since I signed off yesterday reminds me a lot about a video that no doubt does a good job of describing the sort of "straight talk" that cuts right through all those big words and PC crap...

Ultimately I appreciate your explanations about how you feel. Not just your typical temper tantrum sort of thing and no doubt sincere, but I wonder if you can even begin to fairly appreciate a perspective different from yours? At least consider this, with all due respect as well, what I think is the broader perspective...

I'll try not to make this too long, but that's a challenge, because this is not another topic easily addressed with bumper-sticker length comments. You remind me of the same issue when it came to my son at a young age, being exposed to violent video games. Maybe my fault, since I introduced him to DOOM when we played together as he sat on my knee. I've always been one to believe that trying to prevent access to all that our open society provides is foolish. What matters is what's going on between the ears, and as parents that's what we need to carefully develop in our kids so they don't go astray. Violence, sex, porn, etc. forget about trying to prevent any of that sort of exposure in a free society. Please!

Funny thing, however, is that you as a conservative seem to be advocating AGAINST what so many conservatives insisted upon. To provide labeling that clearly let's people know what they are about to watch. The movie ratings, for example, that are almost funny in all they try to warn us about, including "some nudity." Now maybe you are also arguing there should be a warning about "virtue signaling." I don't know, but I'm always inclined to suggest we "not sweat the small stuff."

This movie is rated VS+!

WARNING: The following scenes may contain images that are disturbing to some viewers, including "virtue signaling." Nudity, violence, crude language and graphic scenes of women appearing stronger than men.

PS: Don't get me started about all the many decades of film that "signaled" all the backward ways of thinking, from racism, mysoginy, xenophobia and all the rest. They say "the pendulum swings both ways." When it comes to what was "signaled" before compared to today, the pendulum has hardly begun to swing in the right direction compared to so far in the wrong direction for so long.

That you use the word "evil" negates any point you might be attempting to make.

Gadzooks, this is the movie forum. What did I expect?
It is as sad a shtick as them showing men kicking ass all the time. I am sick of everybody hitting everybody sometimes in movies. Some guys would get their ass kicked by a woman in real life. I mean what can you expect from Hollywood? 80% of the directors are dudes, maybe they get off on thinking about being beat up?

Do you think it realistic to see men fighting other men, that's as ridiculous most times for me.

I liked it better tho in the 80's when even smaller tough guys kicked ass like Van Dam.

I prefer to see martial arts fighting in movies when I can.

The part I put in bold is an example of the conditioning Hollywood has created to make you believe this rubbish.
Yet to have women be able to become cops, firemen, soldiers, etc, all sorts of physical standards have been lowered.
Are there a few examples of wimps, pajama & soy boys along with old diseased males having an exceptionally fit and trained woman being able to win a fight?
Sure
But they are rare outliers, and hardly representative of the overwhelming number of women who would not stand a chance in real hand to hand combat against real men.
