The census was originally intended just to count the population.
Other questions have become intrusive and should not be asked. They are none of the government's business. When my wife worked for the census bureau, many people refused to answer the questions. Some refused to be interviewed at all.
I may have been one of them. I mailed in my 4000 page census questionnaire (ok a little exaggeration ) with only the head count answered and later received two separate visits from census workers.

I agree with you. Unfortunately-allowing criminals representation in congress is the current interpretation of the law. Now, if we can get some adults in control of the House again maybe we can correct that mistake.
Now-what I DON'T know how electoral college "representation" is assigned. Since it is illegal for criminal aliens to vote in a federal election, their numbers as determined by the census do not matter there. Ultimately, we all realize that this whole effort is to make it impossible to stop criminal aliens from voting illegally.
