FBI General Counsel James A. Baker is purportedly under a Department of Justice criminal investigation for allegedly leaking classified national security information to the media, according to multiple government officials close to the probe who spoke with Circa on the condition of anonymity.
FBI spokeswoman Carol Cratty said the bureau would not comment on Baker and would not confirm or deny any investigation.

Isn't it Trumpsters that are always turning their nose up at unnamed sources?

Is it the left that treats unnamed sources as verified facts.

Yes, yes it is and even where no evidence exist.

Circa is owned by Sinclair. They have a moderately conservative bias with generally trustworthy information, but may require further investigation. The factual reporting is rated high. There are slightly more stories favoring the right.

This looks like a pretty good source.

I'm sure the I.G. is looking into these allegations. The FBI does have oversight, and controls in place. It's not quite the rogue agency so many on the right want to believe.

You just started a thread based on a story with unnamed sources. By your standard that is FAKE NEWS. That makes you a source of fake news.

OK, current article:

The former top lawyer at the FBI has been under federal investigation for leaking to the media, a letter from House Republicans revealed Tuesday.

The letter from GOP Reps. Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows cited the transcript of a congressional interview with former General Counsel James Baker and his lawyer last fall, where the probe conducted by seasoned U.S. Attorney John Durham was confirmed.

“You may or may not know, [Baker has] been the subject of a leak investigation … a criminal leak investigation that’s still active at the Justice Department,” lawyer Daniel Levin told lawmakers, as he pushed back on questions about his client’s conversations with reporters.
Oh-and unlike CNN-with NAMED sources.

Know who else is under investigation--the POTUS.

I am a whole lot more worried about the president being investigated than some agent we never heard of.
