Prescription prices was an issue I was hoping Trump would attack.
So far no real significant changes. Something needs to be done.
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2...tent=economics A Bloomberg analysis of 90 big-selling generic drugs in Medicaid managed-care plans in 31 states found wide variations in the prices of medicine from state to state. In some states, Medicaid plans appear to be getting a good deal. In others, plans pay markups of threefold or more on some treatments.

Our entire system is predatory based. Medicare was supposed to be administered by the Government in order to get the best pricing, etc - BUT, the health care companies have been lobbying for a piece of the pie and that is why we have Medicare A to Medicare N....the idea being to confuse everyone so they pay more. Obviously a normal person has no idea of what they are getting.....
In our system an elder who walks into CVS and pays cash for a medication I use - pays about $40 for a 30 day supply.
Go to GoodRX online and get a coupon code and the same is $11. That's what I pay.
That is a ridiculous way to run a country. Maybe the other elder doesn't have internet access of capabilities.....but our system says "Well, if we CAN *********, we WILL. Do assuming CVS makes $5 on my refill, the other person gives them $34 profit, almost 700% as much.
You can order meds from out of state or even overseas. My insurance stopped paying for one I used and I found it for much less at inhousepharmacy.vu. I've done business with them for many years. PM me if you need details.
I have Medicare. One of my prescriptions cost me $30 at one pharmacy and nothing at another one.
Some people would rather blame Trump than shop around. That's like blaming Jeff Bezos for different Amazon sellers charging different prices for the same items.
Yesterday, I purchased a bottle of aspirin at Walgreens. 130 pills for $8.49 [6.5 cents each] Same pills administered to a hospital patient would be $10 each netting $1300 for the hospital.
