The Attorney General appears to testify before Congress twice a year, like clockwork.

OK. Whatever.

However often he testifies, Barr will still have no more concern for little Adam Schiff acting out for the TV cameras than he does for a fly buzzing his lunch tray.

You mean they don't want confirmed what every person with a functioning brain already knows.

There is something very wrong with a governement when the highest office in the land is being held by an incompetent that is an agent of a foreign adversary and it can be kept secret for the American people. WTF???

Acting AG Whitaker says he supports Barr for DOJ's top spot

Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker offered his support to William Barr on Wednesday, saying he would be happy to see the former attorney general take over the Justice Department’s top position once again.

“I’ve always believed it, that he was the right person to take over the Department of Justice and take us into the next chapter of the Department of Justice’s history,” Whitaker said of Barr at a Wednesday afternoon panel on the Religious Freedom Restoration Act hosted by the Heritage Foundation.

Adam Schiff. What a joke.

Barr is required by law to testify before Congress twice a year. He will do that and little Adam Schiff will act out for the cameras, just like always. And William Barr will have no more concern for him than for a fly buzzing his lunch plate.
As chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, he has subpoena power to force Barr to testify. Google it.

Nobody has to subpoena the AG to appear before Congress. The AG appears before Congress twice a year, whether anyone thinks he needs to or not.

Does it make you feel better to stand their with your back all arched up like that, entirely for no purpose?

The question remains, what does Trump expect from Barr that Sessions wasn't already providing other than not being recused from the Mueller investigation. Mueller's final report would have still been screened by the DOJ and not released in its final form.

Barr made clear that he would not be as deferential to the US Attorneys across the country, presumably including the one at the Southern District of New York (SDNY). They do all report to the AG, after all.

But I don't think that is because Trump asked him to do it.

Others have been subpoenaed and not complied.
Its treated as a suggestion and no reason that should change.
You wouldn't expect there to be different treatment in the just us Dept., would you ?

The Democrats are quickly going to find themselves in the same situation the GOP was in.
Congress can do two things
1) let it go
2) pursue contempt charges

Congress has no enforcement body of their own and relies on the DOJ. A DOJ that doesn't comply is not likely to enforce a finding of contempt. What we have seen is the DOJ does have contempt for congress and they get away with it. Its not new. Nothing happened with punishment when A.G. Holder was found in contempt of congress.
