The constitution used to be interpreted to permit bans on gay marriage, interracial marriage, "Separate But Equal", and even slavery.

Also, as of late, equating money with speech (Citizen's United Decision). Hell, it even stated hate speech is ok when marching through the neighborhood of a targeted minority.Didn't make it right.

I am just surprised any sane US Politician would even suggest such a thing.
If the dems hate the constitution to a point where they want to rip it up, they should just leave the country.

Please do not put "sane" with O-Rourke. He is far from anything like that

You left off his later quote.
The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon.

You are simply highlighting that George Washington flip-flopped like Kerry and Hillary Clinton in just 6 short years.

The O.P.er is seriously this ridiculous? Trump said he wanted to Tear UP AMENDMENTS (14th and 15th). You people are hypocrites and truly as unamerican are a gang member. Sadly, unlike biased and ignorant-loving gang members, you people CHOSE to vote for NIXON, REAGAN, GEORGE W. BUSH, and now Trump. All with lots of criminal indictments to their cabinets/cronies.

And we have amendments to the constitution, which 27 of them has been added throughout time.

Originalists are wrong.
They're not wrong. We could have had a convention every 22 years or whatever is suggested. But since that didn't happen it is what it is, with Amendments. Its a living document, and NOT an original document in that regard.

If you want to rewrite the Constitution now when the electorate is polluted and corrupt that's not acceptable at all. First kick out all the foreigners, THEN we'll see what actual Americans want.

I'm scared of him. Don't think he has a snowball's chance in hell, but he is another voice that will continue to push the Democrats into far-left fantasy land.

Come on now! Beto is more centrist than most of the other Dem primary candidates. During these stops in Iowa, Beto is actually interested in the questions the public asks. He answers each of them and even asks if that person has a solution to offer.

He’s probably going to win. Many Dems will not vote for Bernie or Kamala because they are too far left. There are some good center left candidates, including Gov. John Hickenlooper and Sen. Amy Klobuchar. It’s very early yet.

Beto has the “it” factor. So did John Kennedy. It matters, no matter what the Repubs say. Trump had a bully version of it during his campaign. Many rebellious, angry people voted for him because of that.

Beto cares about people, the country, his family, and loves his home state. He wants to help our country regain its footing in the world and to attempt to heal the huge division among the citizens, I find these endearing qualities. Sadly, Trump has egged on the divisiveness because it is to his advantage. However, it is not to the advantage of the USA or to us as individuals. It’s very sad what has happened to the regard we used to, at least somewhat, have for each other.
