This is hilarious, Trump has these politicians livid. I love seeing politicians from both sides get frustrated having to actually do their job, the last thing they want is to have to solve challenging issues. Stop kicking the can down the road on border security. Trump can wait these politicians out, he has nothing to lose, eventually all parties will have to get a bill signed, stop delaying the inevitable and do your jobs.
Exactly. They have no problem doing speeches and brown nosing with foreign allies, enjoying grand dinners and hosting, but heaven forbid they actually face some real stress and have to do work. No company in America would put up with a job performance like they offer us.
First of all, if Pelosi shuts Spanky down from speaking in the House, it's no big deal. She even said he could do the speech from the oval office, which he can. He can also speak in the senate, he's not blocked from doing so. Secondly, she didn't BAN him, she just said in the letter it might be best to be postponed. Not shut down, postponed.
As for Pelosi's trip, it how was it a public relations trip when the trip was secret? No one (other than those involved in the trip/planning) even knew about it. It was a petty move by Trump, but not unexpected. Secondly, since, again, all the planning, etc., had been done - and presumably paid for, how much money did he just blow by cancelling at the very last minute?
Meanwhile folks continue to work and not get paid . . . sigh.
You're joking? It was Pelosi's idea to go to Afaghanistan. She wanted the trip. No one forced her or said she had to go.
Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill tweeted the first reaction from the speaker's office, calling the trip a "weekend visit to Afghanistan," while denying that a stop in Egypt was planned. Hammill further explained that the scheduled stop in Belgium was for "pilot rest" while the delegation was scheduled to meet with top NATO commanders and U.S. military leaders.
“The purpose of the trip was to express appreciation and thanks to our men and women in uniform for their service and dedication, and to obtain critical national security and intelligence briefings from those on the front lines,” Hammill said, adding that Trump traveled to Iraq, and New York Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin also led a congressional delegation to Iraq during the shutdown.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, a California Democrat who had planned to join Pelosi’s congressional delegation to Afghanistan, says Trump’s decision to derail the trip is “completely inappropriate.” https://www.realclearpolitics.comaaaaaaa
But no one is whining about that, just the Dems that poor Nancy couldn't take a vacation on a military plane. And can you all please stop acting like it was going to be "horrible" because part of the itinerary was in Afghanistan? Like she's going to be boots on the ground in the war zone. Give it a rest. They were going to be wined and dined and rub elbows and make bs deals - and Trump spoiled their little plans. BOO. HOO.
The bigger issue with her in a "war zone" is that troops would likely be ordered to show up and meet her. I can't imagine that troops that are putting their lives on the line to protect this nation and our citizens would enjoy meeting a woman that has sacrificed the lives and safety of American citizens. Somehow...affiliating with traitors doesn't seem like something our servicemen and women would enjoy.
As it turns out, she can't run away from the Angel families and hide out overseas while they are demanding answers after all.
