Is it wise to try and contact what ever's out there. Personally I think we are best off leaving the unkown alone, as we don't know what we are dealing with if such signals are from some type of life form.

Well, whatever produced these signals did so 1.5 billion years ago, so we'll be alright.
Not sure if anyone else is out there. If there is, the distance is so great only wormhole travel would be feasible for contact. Unless they have figured out how to create a stable wormhole with predictable destinations, no contact will be made.
