He should invite all of the federal workers that he is forcing to work without pay, and provide a feast of cold fast food for them and their families afterwards. You know, to show them how much he cares about them.

It will be televised, Trump isn't going to give up the airtime. Where it will be given is the real question.

I like the spectacle of it. Especially when they show the reactions of the people behind them. I remember last year the Dems embarrassed themselves by acting like children texting on their phones.

It should be televised, but we have enough technology out there that a written transcript can be made available, as there's always coverage. Those who love and care about our great America will be watching and listening.

Would you want the SOTU to return to a published document released to the press and public or do you want it to continue to be a televised cheerleading rally?
I mean, they all seem so staged and stupid with half the folks cheering and clapping whilst the other half looks pi$$ed.

It's nothing more than a stage show and I would be more than happy to read a document.

Would you want the State of The Union in print instead of televised?
A Tweet will do just fine.

He could sell tickets if he wanted to and have the proceeds go to benefit Veterans job training or something.

He would have the networks televise it live as the State of the Union and then send the printed transcripts to Pelosi and whoever wanted a copy. It would thereby become the Constitutionally mandated State of the Union presentation.

This would be a lot more fun than what they normally do. And politically much more advantageous for Trump and the Republicans.

So, in that scenario, it would be both televised and in print.
Totally agree -- for him it has to be rally format or not at all. It's where he seems to do his best -- for his base.

I still won't watch -- I will read the transcript.

I think the State of the Union is a joke.

It really isn't about the State of the Union - it is a propaganda piece of @#$#

I don't watch if it is a Democrat or a Republican.

I hate the canned applause, the use of victims for political gains, hate it all.

I read the transcript once it is released to the press.

It's a joke. It's tacky -- it's crass, rude, brassy --- yes no matter who is President.
agree

Makes no difference to me. I don't watch it because I find it boring. And I really don't want to listen to Trump's lie after lie and how great he is.
