You can't take away the fact that people on C-D used the qualifying IF / Then statement.
Doesn't matter what you think people's feelings are or are not. They sourced it the right way and provided the correct qualifier.
This particular piece of possible news was published in multiple places, including on the Trumplings beloved FOX. Of course people along the entire political spectrum were going to discuss it. It was out there.
I think you should read those threads again. Not everyone said "IF":
Again, if it were only minor details of the story that were inaccurate mueller wouldn’t have released a statement. WAPO is running a front page story that, according to people in the DOJ, nothing about the story was accurate. And again, there is no evidence what so ever that Mueller is investigating the Trump organization.
yup.. the almost psychotically anti-trump wapo:
“The special counsel’s office seemed to be disputing every aspect of the story that addressed comments or evidence given to its investigators.
The explicit denial by the special counsel’s office is likely to provide further ammunition to complaints by Trump and his supporters that press coverage of him is unfair and inaccurate.”
The main part of the story is not being disputed. The only error is that Trump does not email. So any other information came through one of Trumps Lieutenant's in his mob family.
Trump lies, Cohen lies. Trump has told Cohen to lie. Trump is the un-indicted co-conspirator that is in Cohan's statement when he pleaded guilty.

This is from a December article.
"lies would subject individuals other than Cohen, including the president, to legal liability. The resolution of the legal question does not settle the matter for the president if Trump was aware that his personal lawyer and close associate was planning to lie to Congress and he either acquiesced, perhaps signaling through agents and lawyers his approval of this course of action, or took no action to discourage it. "
Buzzfeed needs to be brought down completely like Gawker. They are a total piece of garbage site
And the media immediately lapped up what they said as well despite knowing the story was obviously fishy
Looks like the Fake News industry and Mueller's team of butthurt cry baby Snowflakes got disconnected on this one...they need to get better coordinated in their Fake News.

Another nail in the box.
"characterization of documents"
Mueller seems to not dispute the fact that there are documents. So the form of the document or source of the document must be incorrect in the article.
As pointed out in the Atlantic, and as you point out above, the source of the document may not have been Trump directly.
However, Trump can still be on the hook.
