Hilarious. He has already lost the 2020 election. This shutdown is all on him and he is losing some of his base. It is OK to dream though so feel free to continue to believe.
Yawn. We’ve heard about how he’s losing for about 3 years now...including the entire primary. Face it - predictions of Trump’s demise got lame around 11/9/2016.
In negotiations, BOTH sides usually give in a little, compromise, etc. sounds like the shutdown is nowhere close to being resolved.
Democrats don’t want to pay a penny for the wall, while Trump has already compromised as the 5.7 billion is very cheap compared to the professional estimates of 10-18 billion
Well of course I'd prefer 1A but if I offer you to choose between a pill to take away your headache or a pill to make you live forever, which one are you going to take? You might say the latter but IT DOESN'T EXIST! Likewise, many court rulings have made it clear that we are NOT going to be detaining illegal crossers (of whom nearly all are "asylum" seekers now) for three months much less three years.
Are you here to discuss serious options and solutions or to just day dream about being king?
"many" court rulings have generally been activist judges from lower-level courts. It will be up to SCOTUS to decide if it goes that far. I don't recall seeing any time limits in the constitution with regard to the protection of American citizens.

Just curious how Trump will accomplish what "professional estimates" say should cost 2x-4x as much money? There's an old adage in manufacturing, construction, pretty much anything that mankind builds or creates:
Speed of completion/Good quality/Reduced cost... Choose two.
Not even Donald J Trump can change that equation.
The proposed funding would go toward infrastructure at ports of entry and funding 75 new immigration judges, to speed up adjudication of asylum claims. This should go a long way toward dealing with the backlog at the border.
Trump saying he will make an announcement today - hopefully this will end the shutdown.
Is this the start of adults making a compromise??? This along with the common sense solution Trump proposed with DACA hopefully will lead to something getting done.
The federal appellate court blocked Trump's plans to kill DACA and TPS, neither are on the SCOTUS spring calendar so there's really no compromise at all.
If they cave and reach an amount that both sides agree on, they would never allow the public to know that, they would call it something else or have people believe that they didnt give any money for a wall, its all about the optics.

No -appropriations is very very serious business and open to the public. No hiding this money. How they agree, or on the terms might have some hidden agendas, but all is fÃlmed and documented. His big trap put him in the corner, and way to proud to say “ok already!” And bend. So they best plan like someone mentioned - a war or crazy event or possible illness - detaching him from the grip. Think the shrinks really need to come in - maybe some witch doctors - shamans- I don’t know. This has to stop or border patrol themselves will walk away.
