Epilepsy so I can't fly at all. Are you saying veterans have a special ability to fly without controllers?
Air traffic controllers are quitting or calling in sick. TSA are doing pretty much the same. It won't be long until airports shut down for days at a time.
How many of you are postponing travel until the shutdown ends?
I fly every two weeks and have not noted any problems yet. I will continue to do so, unless it becomes very problematic. However, no signs of that at this time, despite all the warnings. I usually fly into Atlanta then head west, so these routes are not affected at all.
Is there a pilot on this forum who can help Refugee87 understand why having air traffic control run by by the lowest bidder(s) is a poor idea?
They would bring in cheap labor from India to do ATC so that the private sector captains and shareholders could make bank.
Then, right on que, when planes start falling out of the sky, they would blame the government that forced them to hire cheap incompetent labor because of pricey regulations and rules, yada yada yada.
