yep. same thoughts here.

i'm curious if a VP could be simultaneously impeached with a POTUS or if it would require the POTUS going thru impeachment hearings, being impeached, the VP being sworn in as POTUS then going thru a second set of impeachment hearings.

my guess in all this has been we'll see something similar to agnew/ford/nixon. pence will step down first for some vague reason ( "more time with family", "creative differences" ), trump will appoint a new VP that was unconnected to the campaign and/or trump. the crap hits the fan, trump resigns and VP X becomes POTUS and gives full blanket pardon for any past or potential crimes to trump and pence.

Pence is squeaky clean. I have not heard one iota, no bimbo payoffs, no colluding with the Ruskies, no kissing Putin's patoot, no obstruction of justice, no campaign finance violations. He is just your garden variety right wing religious nut case. He is not going anywhere regardless of what happens to Trump.

If collusion is not proved but strong evidence of Trump obstructing the investigation is revealed, DJT should be impeached and Pence should take over as he himself did not obstruct.
go back to school......collusion is not a crime......firing Comey isn't obstruction of justice. William Barr the new AG already said this many times and the Democrats don't get it.

and lying to Congress about a none-crime isn't an impeachable offense either. If it was most in Congress would be in trouble.

if, if ,if if.....is that your case? wishful thinking.

Hacking into US Servers is a crime. Anyone assisting in or having knowledge of this hacking is acting in conspiracy...which is a crime. Lying to congress about this crime IS impeachable.

Nobody on this board or the media or the congress knows the outcome of this investigation.

The people who want to impeach Trump don't care about cause, they just want regime change. That makes their efforts not and impeachment, but a coup d'etat, and they should be treated as such.

Once the handwriting was on the wall with Nixon, the Republicans moved Ford in place. Agnew was damaged goods and Ford was the perfect placeholder. Per the agreement, once Ford was POTUS he moved quickly to pardon Nixon.

I suspect that's what Republicans will do this time around if it looks like Trump will be going down for high crimes and misdemeanors connected for Russian involvement.

Remember, Pence was handpicked by Manafort, who is in prison at this very moment.

He was caught up in Flynn's business and ever since then only pops up long enough to proclaim that he knew nothing about nothing, that it is all a huge shock to him.

Which leaves me to believe that if Mueller's investigation turns up impeachable offenses on Trump, Pence won't end up squeaky clean either. Rather than risk Pelosi as President, the Republicans could well put in a placeholder as VP.

He's gone in 2020 if this shutdown goes into February, if he isn't impeached or resigned by the election.

As for Pence I'm only against him policy wise. Trump is a serial liar and is shady on top of his bogus policy. His supporters are hypocrites who hated Hillary for doing much of the same the left accuses Trump of.

Yes, this is what would happen. The Speaker only gets to be President in the case of dual assassinations. A liberals wet dream.
