That's pretty goofy, saying that the case will depend on if Sandman was a public figure. How much less of a public figure could a 16 year old unknown high school kid from Kentucky be? The whole point of the lawsuit is that Sandman USE TO BE unknown and was at the time of the incident, BUT BECAME the target of death threats due to the fake news stories and is now a public figure and reputation has been destroyed. Although many people would support him, its a polarizing political topic and he will face consequences for years to come. The News media is the main reason for this. Sandman has an excellent case.
Oh yes, Sandmann will face consequences of this for the rest of his life (if he stays in the NKY/ Cincinnati area that is). Its sort of like the Richard Jewel case, he went from public enemy #1 to totally innocent fairly quickly, but even all these years later, many people still feel suspicious of him.
I live in the same area as Sandmann and from what I see in the community, its split, many people did change their tune when it became more clear what really took place, but you would be surprised how many people still believe he was in the wrong, there is just nothing that will change their mind on this.
Id say it would probably be best for Sandmann to take the money he gets from this and moves somewhere else, where he is not that well known.

I don't think he has any money. Just is an activist running around making trouble unless he is backed by some people. He needs to be investigated as well.

You might be right-but I wouldn't bet on it. He has been an "activist" for years; many con-men do quite well for themselves. At one point he supposedly had a "charity" that he was raising money for. Seems as if the charity has become nothing more than disconnected phone lines since the story broke.
He might start a GoFundMe now and become a millionaire. GoFundMe is becoming a problem but they do keep a large portion of the pot so I don't see them stopping it very soon.
