A diet where health can't be sustained naturally is bad. Simple as that. People can be vegetarian and not need B-12 added artificially (you can get it from eggs and milk). But you can't do that on a vegan diet without eating heavily processed foods (AKA "fortified" foods or supplements).

That's pure BS, excluding the cow that is.

Ah, a "Voice of Europe" web site with 3 paragraph stories to stir the mind and imagination!

Although I know information is like Kryptonite for many folks who read such sites, a little background might help others.

1. My entire family have been Vegetarian or Vegan for two generations...going on three. In 1970, almost 50 years ago, it was common knowledge that most Vegetarians should supplement with B12 and perhaps other B vitamins. This "study" is like saying that if people don't get Vitamin C they may get scurvy!

2. Although the Danes beat out the USA in life span, they are far and away not at the top of the list - LARGELY DUE TO DIET and lifestyle.

"RISK FACTORS
Overall, the three risk factors that account for the most disease burden in Denmark are tobacco smoking, dietary risks, and high blood pressure. The leading risk factors for children under 5 and adults aged 15-49 years were tobacco smoking and alcohol use, respectively,
in 2010. Tobacco smoking as a risk factor for children is due to second-hand smoke exposure."

Translation - Dane eat too much animal fat (caused hearth attacks, high blood pressure, etc.) and drink too much....and smoke too much.

Now, in the world of Reality, that would be the Big News...something like "American Influenced Diet and Lifestyle Types Kill Children and Adults".

But in backwards bizzarro world, the story is "If you eat only Celery and never take a supplement or use nutritional yeast, etc. in your diet, you could have problems"......

Note - I have been to Denmark many times. My friend there had his gall bladder removed at quite a young age - something thought to be tied to excess fat intake.

"you should try to avoid high-fat meals (think fried foods, processed foods such as donuts and cookies, whole-milk dairy products and fatty red meat), as these are what would trigger the gallbladder to release a large amount of bile."

So, BBB, are you gonna avoid smoking, drinking and all fats listed above?

Explains where most Democrats are coming from, with the participation here and the findings in the Danish samples.
