He is one of the few Presidents who has really tried to keep all of his campaign promises, including building the wall. I disagreed with this promise but agree with some of the other ones:
Exiting the JCPOA, better known as the "Iran deal";
Exiting the Paris Climate Accords;
Recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital; and
Renegotiating NAFTA.
It's quite an admirable record for keeping promises. And I'm a leftist who voted for Clinton.
Power. It is rare for anyone with an ego that drives him to seek power, to give that power up. It's intoxicating, apparently.
As for money, he's made many millions off of being President.
It's possible he has that Moscow hotel deal waiting for him in Russia. Who knows? Could be one of the things he and Putin discuss when they have those secret meetings with no one present, and no record made of. (Although, like so many of Trump's projects, that could just end up bankrupting him again.)
He will have abilities to make money from being a former President. People like to hang with formerly powerful people, who have money. No matter what they've done. Remember how everyone in the country was convinced that Von Bulow had murdered his wife? He got off. Even so, he was a much desired guest at all the "A" parties. He was famous.
In some areas, but he's lost more than he's gained.
