What Social Democracy does or should do, is tax people who earn more, because their benefit of another $ is less then those lower down the economic scale.

If you believe spending moves the economy then you could at least argue that higher taxes create spending because most savvy wealthy people play games to get tax deductions and exemptions by spending their money in certain ways. Now they have little incentive to do that so they just hoard jt
