Where did this current climate of politics, culture, and social problems stem in the past couple of years and whos to blame. Should we blame white supremacy, the Alt-Right, White Nationalist, conscious woke blacks, Intersectional feminists, black feminist, mainline white feminists, SJW's who advocate for everyone in their moral compass even though those that be don't ask for representation. Whos at fault for causing all of those. Can we blame social media? Twitter is a hot bed for both Donald Trump supporters, and fist in the air Pro Black Americans who can be easily angered via emotional false stories and news. Or do we blame the news for insinuating rage from Charlottesville to recently with Covington Catholic school kids wearing MAGA hats. Its nuts, you have people on either camps doxxing getting people fired from their jobs or evicted from their apartments. You have Antifa vs Proud Boys. I find it completely worrisome that does that be last week forgot about the millions of Americans who work for the Fed did not get paid, but are more outraged over boys wearing MAGA hats.

I just hope that people can go back to normalcy, and be open to forgiveness and compassion, and that the outrage can stop, and judge people by our character, and forgive people for doing or saying things that seem to be wrong think. Who started, and who intensified the current social cultural climate we are in. A whole bunch of people on the left where calling for children to be killed. And Heather Hayer, was killed by a right wing nut-Job (RIP).When is this all going to stop?

I also hope that people can come together and drop their echo-chambers.
Stop seeing news and social media. Everything will be solved.

All of these are happening only in our minds. No body shot you yet or shamed you.

Lightbulb Where did or who started the current culture war?

1. The so-called "religious right"

2. Gingrich

3. right wing hate radio

There are probably more. That's just a short list of the most obvious haters.

It's just in their chemistry.

I would put those that follow the theory of intersectionality.

I don't understand you question. BUt let me break it down to you. I live in NYC, and in NYC a BA and BS is nothing unless if one attends the top 50 college or universities. In NYC to get ahead one must be good at sales, have a degree from a top college or have a professional degrees. None of those I don't have.

In NYC you can make it by being good at most anything. I know a (women) project manager who has no education in the subject. She worked her way up and does large projects.

As you well know, being a good musician or actor can be another way to make it in the big apple.

Another friend who lives there is a specialist in a certain brand of software - accounting type. He lives in a nice single house in Garden City. Wife is a teacher. They just retired and travel all over the world.

It may be that you can't get the right Wall Street job without connections and the right MBA...but there is certainly a lot of work in the area.

All that said, world-class cities are always expensive to live in. One of our friends who is a doctor there lives in a place that is smaller than our living room (Manhattan). The one "rich guy" we know of that lives in NYC (20 million dollar apt near the Embassies) was big in the Media (in the old days) and his wife's family was wealthy.....so you could always marry well.
:-)

Oh sorry, BA means Black American. I thought its still better than still calling htem Afro-American which needs to be removed IMO. Better if its just American.

You spoke about culture war. I am saying we just have to ignore the news , social media and move on with our lives. (yet you see me preaching here )

I have read a book about Alexander Dugin on how to contain America. Russia and China sure have plenty of BLM bots running around Social Media, that's for sure. That alone will cause people to be outraged even though the information is false and not fact checked.
My three male sons -- who are white -- aren't worried at all about their status. They are still making more than their female counterparts in the same field, with the same experience.

Maybe it's something about you that makes you feel that way.

Conservative Boomers moved to the Red states, and liberal Boomers moved to the Blue states.
