Yes I was sick when I first saw the headline that he was attacked.
I'll note, I honestly thought that he probably was attacked by black men who are homophobes but the reporting of this being crazy racist white people is just outright crazy.
But Chicago has a history of racism. I know a few black people who have been attacked by crazy white men there.
I also don't get the "fake" comments being that even though TMZ is not the most respectable outlet, they are usually pretty correct on the facts.
He had a rope put around his neck.... A source I read stated that the "chemical" was bleach.
It is sad that people around here want to act like this couldn't possibly be true. If this were to happen anywhere, honestly, it is not surprising that it happened in Chicago to me. There are some very bold racist white people in Chicago. The local Chicago media are also reporting on this.
Even though I don't outright believe many of these sorts of stories, the fact that he is a pretty well known star makes me not think he'd lie and make up a story like this. Also read his rib was cracked/broken.
The only thing that makes it seem like the story is a little off is that the scene of the alleged crime was downtown Chicago at 2:00 am--not a place/time where there are likely to be Trump lovers hanging around.

This was Chicago, after all. No shortage of assaults and muggings there. But let's turn this into a "hate crime," and blame it on Trump supporters for good measure.
As if they watch Empire or even know who this guy is. Hell...I hadn't even heard of this person--and thought "Jussie" was a woman.
I agree that it's important to wait for all the facts to come out before making judgement, but that also means not automatically writing this incident off as fake.
He is confirmed to be badly injured, and I don't think that he'd do this to himself just to make a political point.
But who knows? People have done weirder things.
