The senate passes the anti-lynching bill in December after 200 failures to do so over the years. Gets sent to House, House does not do their job in time for it to go to Trump to sign.
On
January 21, KH announces her bid for the presidency.
January 22, Smollett receives the crayon drawing that was sent to Fox studios in Chicago.
January 29, Smollett is allegedly attacked by 2 people who yell "This is MAGA country!" after calling him the n word and the British word for a cigarette. They allegedly put a "noose" on him and pour bleach on him. He walked home, sat around for 40 minutes, his manager called and told him to contact police. (First version) His manager was on the phone at the time of the attack, heard the 2 "assailants" yell "This is MAGA country', and for some reason, let Smollett walk home, never once calling police. Convinces Smollett to call police.
Police show up, take down the story. Smollett never mentions "This is MAGA country" when talking to the police the first time. He never mentions race. He never mentions anyone wearing MAGA hats. Police advise Smollett to go to hospital. Smollett is taken to hospital by a redacted name. While at the hospital, before the doc shows up, Don Lemon, not a friend at the time, calls Smollett to ask if he's okay. The conversation is short because Smollett announces that the doc is there. Smollett was released a short time later meaning he was not "hospitalized" he just "went to the hospital and got checked out".
Some time later, the CPD release the information to the news.
MSM, celebrities, and political pundits go full out on the story. KH, CB, DL all call it a "modern day lynching".
The alleged attackers, (now known as the 2 Nigerian brothers who knew Smollett) fly to Nigeria where video is shot of them giving money out to beggars. They mention something about "giving back" in the video.
January 30: Smollett talks to police again, this time mentioning "This is MAGA country" to the police, which had already been reported in an article by TMZ the day before.
January 31: A grainy video of 2 "persons of interest" is finally found after police scoured hours and hours of camera footage all along Smollett's route.
Manager of Smollett claims that he was talking to Smollett while the attack happened, and heard "This is MAGA country". Police request Smollett's phone records. Smollett's rep makes the claim that Smollett handed them over within the hour of the request.
At some point, the brothers return to the U.S. They are identified by detective work to be the 2 people in the grainy still. They are identified as an associate of Smollett because he was an extra on "Empire" and a friend of the extra. It is later stated that they are brothers. The brothers are then revealed to be trainers for Smollett. Photos come out of one of them walking on his hands on a treadmill in the same building that Smollett lives in. Instagram for Abel is scoured, finds that Smollett and Abel follow each other, and that Abel has written to Smollett in one of his updates. Connection made.
Police continue to request Smollett's phone records.
February 5: Smollett's manager hands over his phone records to the police.
February 11: DL goes on "Red Table Talk" and speaks about contacting Smollett right after the attack - while he was in the hospital waiting for the doctor. Goes on to talk about what it's like to be a gay, black man in today's society. Says that they were not friends, they had mutual friends, and since the attack, has "texted Jussie every day".
February 12: Smollett hands over heavily redacted phone records to the police - stating "privacy concerns" - yet again, the rep for Smollett said that JS had handed the phone records over within an hour of request.
Police state phone records "Do Not Meet The Burden For Criminal Investigation" and request original phone records.
February 13: The two brothers are arrested and held for up to 48 hours.
February 14: Smollett appears on GMA, "pi$$ed off" that anyone disbelieves his story. Does not come out and say "it was white people" but alludes that it was white people by ticking off every other race he could have mentioned to make people believe his story.
Police raid the home of the 2 brothers who are still in custody. Several items are seized.

Both used the alleged Smollett attack to push the bill. Bill currently sits in House waiting to pass.
February 15: The brothers have been questioned by the CPD. Their answers brought them release. Brothers claim it was staged and that it was rehearsed before hand, several times. Brothers claim they were paid $3500. Most of it upfront, the remainder when they returned.
Smollett retains a defense attorney.
Weekend
Feb 16 and 17: People start questioning any possible links between KH and Smollett and KH and CB's bill. This is done by those on the right, and it is done by those on the left. Suddenly, multiple photos are shared of Smollett and his entire family, having connections to KH, DL, MW, AK, BO and family, and other high profile Dems. Siblings of Smollett have also worked "with or for" (not necessarily in direct form as in on a payroll for that person) these people in some capacity or way (helping to get elected, etc) and/or someone very close to the high profile Dem. Connections with KH are shown going back as far as 3 years ago. This also includes a sibling doing work with a very close friend to CB.
Today,
Feb 18: It is stated that the reason for the hoax was because the "letter wasn't getting enough attention" and that the staged attack was to be "done by January 29".
The entire thing reeks. I really don't think we're ever going to get the full story. Saying that the letter didn't get enough attention so he felt the need to stage a fake hate crime isn't cutting it for me if it was just someone seeking attention for their own personal reasons. He didn't need attention, he had attention. He had 1.38 Million followers just on Twitter alone. He's an actor. The show "Empire" has been considered a "hit" according to several publications. He had a music career. He had tour dates. So I really don't think he was lacking attention - he was getting attention. In fact, one of the earliest reports on this story stated that he didn't want to be recognized while he walked home after his flight. So - if he doesn't want attention, why would he be seeking attention?
What kind of pay off was there? He lost $3500...or maybe $7000 if it was each. Either way, that's not chump change.
Victimhood status? He didn't need to concoct a hoax for victimhood status - he's gay, he's black - many already consider him a victim for those 2 traits alone. He didn't need the status, the status was foisted upon him by others who play identity games, simply for the fact that he is who he is.
Greed? Really? He isn't poor. He's doing well. Acting, music career, fans - when he wasn't screeching about Trump on his timeline, he seemed like a really positive guy. Only time he ever said anything negative or nasty was when he talked about or to Trump via Twitter. Every other post on this timeline is extremely positive - and that draws people. He also engaged his audience a LOT on his timeline. That draws people. It's not like he didn't know how to get and keep fans - he did. So I'm not buying into the 'greed' angle. He was on his way to more, and more, and more thanks to how he presented himself online (except for his TDS) and for his role in a hit show. He didn't need to concoct a hoax to get more, he was already getting more.
Like I said before, he was living a very comfortable life. He had a good life going for him. He was successful, making good money, had a lot of friends, including in high places, apparently, and he already had his victimstatus badge that was given to him without him even trying. He was on his way to bigger and better things.
Why the hell take a chance on a phony hate crime? Why would someone throw all of that away for a risk like that?
I'm not buying it. I think there's more to it. Is it KH and her bill? I don't know. But "needed attention" and "greed" - no, sorry, he was already getting those, and it was increasing already. Something else is going on - I'm just not sure we'll ever find out.
