I generally lean to the right on most issues, but I actually don't believe Obama was a bad President. He certainly wasn't the worst one we've had.

The economy was in horrible shape when Obama entered office, but it improved greatly during his term in the White House. I listen to talk radio a lot and they love to bring up how well the stock market has done since Trump took office, but yet they don't mention how it skyrocketed during Obama's Presidency.

Also, I don't believe Obamacare is a bad thing. People with pre-existing conditions can now get coverage and subsidies allow poorer Americans to get coverage. Personally, I don't mind paying higher premiums for that.

The successful Bin Laden mission happened during Obama's term, as well as thawing of our relationship with Cuba.

I just don't understand how he was a horrible President.

As a Red Wave liberal, my opinion is that Obama sucked until he got a Republican Congress and then he didn't suck as much....he let the Republicans fix everything and he became a figurehead which is how things are supposed to work.

He scared people with his communist rhetoric, and Obamacare. That is why Congress went Republican so fast. What saved us from further harm was his absolute LAZINESS. He was always doing campaign speeches at Democrat fundraisers, or on vacation. That's it. Thankfully! He wanted money, and prestige, and he got it.

Spying on the opposition party's presidential campaign during an election (see Richard Nixon) doesn't phase you?

By decent, you mean evil, right?

He also was divisive with a lot of his rhetoric. Racial relations was the worst under him than anyone in recent history.

But because he was a Democrat and black, the liberal media did not scrutinize any of the controversial things he said/did therefore you have people like the OP that got the impression that he was "decent."

I liked Obama enough to vote for him the first go around but he fell out of favor the second. I think Obama was a decent enough President. He did some good things and some not so good for the country just like every President before him and just as Trump is doing now if the Democrats would get off his back and give him an inch of credit.

What I didn't like about Obama was how he divided the country along race lines, reached out far more then he should have to help Muslims here and abroad and how he gave illegal aliens a voice and his ear. At times it seemed that he did not even like America and couldn't help himself in making apologies and excuses for it. He did tell us that he was going to "fundamentally change America" and he was well on his way to doing that.

The best thing that Obama ever did was give us Trump and that was a direct result of his failed and questionable policies that put America in the back seat and with Hillary promising more of the same America should be thankful that enough people took a chance on Trump.

Obama is a racist socialist. Using a layman’s term, he’s a Nazi.

It’s a disgrace to the word “decent” when associated with Obama.

He could have worked to unite us. Instead he divided us a lot more, and put us on this path of self destruction as a country.

Back around 2011/2012, I coined the term, "Obama Derangement Syndrome" to describe people like you. Keep in mind, this wasn't long after the "town hall screamers" episodes over Obamacare, where seemingly insane people attended congressional meetings across the country to incoherently yell at members of Congress and, often, spout out conspiracy theories and nutball ideas like "death panels" (remember those?).

Then their tribe got Trump elected and they suddenly noticed deranged, unhinged rhetoric and behavior on the other side and they took that term I coined and refashioned. Well, good for them. I too lament the rhetoric of the folks on the left whose lives are consumed with Trump. The thing is, I have a beef with all you lunatics who actually believe that if we just put the right person in power in our government, things will be well. You folks are flip sides of the same coin. I anger the righties when I tell them government isn't the source of our problems and I anger the lefties when I tell them government isn't the cure for our problems. Broaden your minds and stop catastrophizing things like those precious "snowflakes" on college campuses.
