This is bogus.
1. You voted your own local taxes in, other states shouldn't subsidize your own local taxes. The Federal government shouldn't care how much you pay in local taxes, this business is between you and your state, not the Feds.
2. The whole "my states contributes more to Feds than it takes in" is a false argument as well. Unless you want to volunteer to have a nuclear testing site in your state, or a nuclear storage facility, or an extra military missile range. The reason why the majority of high tax states do not get what they put in is because they refuse to accept money for these government facilities and outsource them on the poorer states.

It may be a response to those red state residents being told they don't count because they're hayseeds. Or maybe due to their characterization of being toothless, mouth breathing, trailer park dwelling, meth using, sister ****ing inbred low life dropouts. That would tend to color your attitude.

I live in Maryland, the Republican Governor of which was just reelected on a platform that emphasized lower taxes. So what do members of the Democrat dominated Legislature do? Start talking about, and introducing legislation, increasing state taxes across the board.

This Governor's immediate predecessor declared at one time that anyone making over $75K/year or $150K/married couple, was unjustifiably and obscenely rich and should be taxed to the maximum possible.

Another option is to do what many in NY, NJ, CA, etc are doing.....move to a lower tax area.
100% correct.

‘I trusted you!’ Trump voters seethe after realizing they’re getting screwed by the GOP’s tax plan.
If you think this is bad, wait until small business S-Corps file, because they will be the hardest his.

Again, only those in high tax blue states will be negatively impacted.

If they have good accountants, many should've converted to C corps by now and gotten a tax cut, or use the new pass-through deduction.
Majority of the rest will be hammered in high tax states as well, just like individuals. Good. They voted for this in the first place. Pay taxes you voted for, or relocate to a low tax state to get even higher decrease in your taxes.

Blue state middle/upper class are getting taxed more due to their local taxes. Its not like federal taxes went up exclusively for them. From now on, they just gotta pay the local taxes they actually voted for, and not avoid paying for their local taxes by getting fed deductions. Seems fair to me. Democrats love paying taxes anyway, since they think the government can spend money more efficiently than individuals/corporations, what happened?

I live in a high tax locality with an upper middle class household income. Came out about the same for me. I paid less in withholding during the year but ended up with less of a refund. If I don't like it, I can move to a low tax state or vote in pols who want to lower local taxes - the Federal income taxes shouldn't be my source of ire and it's not.
