Turn on Rush Limbaugh now and learn why Trump won last night and the Dems made fools of themselves.

I'd rather look at Pence's half smile than Nancy cleaning and sucking her gums and teeth on nationwide TV. She does it every time. Not attractive or professional looking.

I just read through the transcript since I don't waste my time watching it... I don't have to cloud things with what Pelosi is doing... who is wearing what... how long are they applauding... who cares.

I don't see how any rational person who wants the best for the country, and themselves, could have a problem with what he said last night.
  • Acknowledged 75 years since D-Day
  • Acknowledged 50 years of the landing on the moon
  • Urged bi-partisanship
  • Bragged on economy and low unemployment
  • Urged Senate to confirm 300 judges
  • Fund the government
  • End illegal immigration; boost legal immigration
  • Fair trade
  • Fair drug pricing
  • Ending HIV
  • No to socialism
  • No to endless wars

Last statement...

We must choose whether we are defined by our differences -- or whether we dare to transcend them. We must choose whether we squander our inheritance -- or whether we proudly declare that we are Americans: We do the incredible. We defy the impossible. We conquer the unknown. This is the time to re-ignite the American imagination. This is the time to search for the tallest summit, and set our sights on the brightest star. This is the time to rekindle the bonds of love and loyalty and memory that link us together as citizens, as neighbors, as patriots.

This is our future -- our fate -- and our choice to make. I am asking you to choose greatness. No matter the trials we face, no matter the challenges to come, we must go forward together.

What is there to dislike about the speech?

Democrats don’t like that four-letter word that begins with a “W” and ends with an “L.”

Optics are bad for Dems who stood and cheered for paid family leave so mothers could stay home with their babies that weren't aborted. Ivanka Trump pushed hard for this project by the way. Oops!

Rush called this pure genius just now by Trump who manipulated the Dems to show the audience who they really are.

Even CNN has said T got high approval ratings. Oh no!

CBS poll said 76% approved of the speech especially immigration issue

When did he last night or ever demonize immigrants??? His critics constantly and disingenuously keep making this absurd accusation against him without proof and it's just a blatant lie. Trump has very clearly and very consistently drawn a distinction between LEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL immigrants. He even did it clearly in his speech past night. The fact that his haters in the MSM and elsewhere refuse to acknowledge the very clear distinction he makes is on them, not the president. The fact that the MSM conflates the two and thereby misleads the public is why they are rightly called fake news by the president and his supporters.

It was very odd to see her wandering around back there, shuffling sheets of paper, while the President was giving his State of the Union Address. I don’t believe she is well.

Trump the equal of Reagan, a smooth flowing speech with the usual touches of genius. DEMS had to be sitting there visualizing those old steam train wrecks that will be their campaign in 2020.

It's much much much easier to demonize the "wealthy" or the "1%" and promise more and more free government goodies and handouts at the expense of these demonized groups like Democrats do than at least strive for controlled spending and less government like the Republican party does. Granted, the establishment wing of the GOP is almost as bad as the Dems with uncontrolled spending so neither side is without fault.

One only needs to look at how viciously the Tea Party protesters were slandered, vilified, and attacked to see how badly the Dems, establishment GOP, the Washington bureaucracy, and the MSM treats any group who dares protest or demand the federal government do something about the crisis of the national debt. That is essentially what the Tea Party movement was all about despite the ridiculous attacks they endured.

As for the Republican Party being "old, white men" and the Democratic party being diverse, it again goes back to the pathetic scumbag MSM in this country. There are a lot of African Americans, Hispanics, and women of all ages who quietly hold conservative political views and even more that hold Libertarian views that are becoming increasingly disgusted with the radical far left turn the Democratic party has taken in the last few years. The problem is that these people face severe backlash from family, friends, and even the media if they dare come out as conservative, Libertarian, or especially Republican. That's why I think you'll see an increasing number of Libertarians and classical Liberals (more moderate JFK and even Bill Clinton type Democrats) identify as independents.

The Republican Senate nominee from the state of Michigan is a perfect example of how badly the deck is stacked against African Americans trying to win Republican seats. There you had a very strong AA candidate with conservative values who was by any measure a very impressive candidate yet he didn't come close to beating the "old, white female" Democratic incumbent.
The problem with a number of the Republican African-Americans is that they are stupid. Dr. Ben Carson is one often pointed to and he still thinks homosexuality is a choice as well as saying China was in the Middle East when they were not.
