When did he last night or ever demonize immigrants??? His critics constantly and disingenuously keep making this absurd accusation against him without proof and it's just a blatant lie. Trump has very clearly and very consistently drawn a distinction between LEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL immigrants. He even did it clearly in his speech past night. The fact that his haters in the MSM and elsewhere refuse to acknowledge the very clear distinction he makes is on them, not the president. The fact that the MSM conflates the two and thereby misleads the public is why they are rightly called fake news by the president and his supporters.
President Trump NEVER demonized immigrants as a whole. His detractors claim he called Mexicans "rapists" when he announced his candidacy back in 2015, but what he did say was;

They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
Anyone who thinks this is racist is unwilling to engage in some basic fact-checking and reading comprehension.
Many of the northward migrants do rape. There have been numerous accounts given by illegal alien Mexican and Central American women who were raped on the journey into Texas, California, and Arizona, either by fellow migrants and quite often by Mexican coyotes.
There is also a flow of illegal drugs from Mexico into the U.S. The drug routes are controlled by the devilishly violent cartels and their foot soldiers are not upstanding citizens. They will slaughter anybody who gets in their way with a level of barbarity not even animals would engage in.
Mexico, like any country, has a society where some are very poor and others live luxurious lives. In any country, those who live in comfort - with maids, chefs/cooks, chauffeurs, bodyguards, country homes, private villas - do not need to immigrate. They may in some ways lack some comforts or conveniences that life in the U.S. would give, but otherwise, theirs are sufficiently wealthy and prosperous lives right where they are. Or does anybody think Carlos Slim, the most famous telenovela actors/actresses, or the top-earning soccer players in Mexico's soccer league are going to try to walk into Texas in search of higher wages?
I expect people to spin narratives to favor their agendas and expect very little honesty from President Trump's detractors, but the ease with which such folks get offended is reminiscent of prepubescent girls who don't get their way.
I just read through the transcript since I don't waste my time watching it... I don't have to cloud things with what Pelosi is doing... who is wearing what... how long are they applauding... who cares.
I don't see how any rational person who wants the best for the country, and themselves, could have a problem with what he said last night.

What is there to dislike about the speech?
Yes those are all good things. The problem comes when a serial liar talks you don't know what are just empty words and what is the truth. I know one part of his speech that he believes to be true. When he said that he shouldn't be investigated. He believes that he is above the law, but fortunately, we the people don't. Congress will do proper oversight. Like it or not, we the people elected them to do just that.

Exactly! The left either doesn't know the difference between legal and illegal immigrants or they do and pretend not to. Which is it? They constantly blur those lines and it is blatantly dishonest. As you said, Trump has never demonized immigrants who are here legally, have assimilated into our society, support themselves and don't seek to harm us. His objection is to those who don't and those here illegally.
The problem with a number of the Republican African-Americans is that they are stupid. Dr. Ben Carson is one often pointed to and he still thinks homosexuality is a choice as well as saying China was in the Middle East when they were not.

He is correct. There is nothing there. Its been two years and they are looking for Russian collusion, which is not even an impeachable offense. They are just tying up govt resources to bring down a president they hate. Look at that ridiculous Cavanagh investigation. Nothing there. Nothing at all. The woman made an ass our of herself. No memory of anything. Her own friends have no recollection of being at the party that he RAPED her. Give me a break. Funny thing is Obama and Hillary had far more ties to Russia and completely knew the election was being tampered with by them but let it go because they thought it would be in her favor.
