It is well known that Republicans do not want the average individual to vote. The research has been done and they know that the more people vote, the less likely Republicans will prevail in an election.
It is quite hypocritical of them to make a big deal about the possibility of voter fraud (an almost non-existent problem) when in fact they would rather people not vote at all. To prevent 1/4 of 1% (probably much less) of votes being cast improperly they would gleefully throw 5 or 10 percent of the legitimate voters entirely off the rolls, or make it so hard for legitimate voters that they get discouraged.
Is it surprising to anyone that Republicans don't want ease of access to the polls for American citizens and don't want to enforce the rules of ethics?
I'm sure the responses will be full of caravans of Mexicans and rogue ethics deep state agents. Can it be more obvious who is for the voice of the people?
Dems move to make voting national holiday, GOP says no
It makes sense...the poorer working class often have trouble getting to the polls on time because of their work schedule, so if you made it a Holiday that means more people can get out and vote. If they have trouble getting out to vote, then that is okay with the GOP, who never miss a chance to supress a vote or voting whenever they can.
If they aren't Gerrymandering, then they are actively trying to pursue voter suppression. I can see why, because
it seems to work for them. As far as they are concerned any more, To @#$% with every citizen's right to vote. Dems move to make voting national holiday, GOP says no
Sad.
its true, the apathetic and uninformed tend to vote democrat
What you mean to say is: The hard working who really need their jobs and are fearful of losing one of their two (or even three in some cases) jobs tend to vote Democratic, and have a hard time getting away to vote.
What you mean to say is: The elderly or infirm who need help getting to the polls tend to vote Democratic ... and their adult children, neighbors or friends have a hard time getting away to bring them to the polls.
What you mean to say is: The Republicans shut many of the places underclass and under-resourced citizens can go to register to vote, and according to plan become discouraged. And now they are sure that the Republican party doesn't give a damn about them, so when they do (by some miracle or twist of fate) get to the polls they will vote Republicans out of office.
That's what you meant, isn't it?

The republicans entire campaign strategy is voter suppression, gerrymandering and the ancient electoral college.
Of course they don't want more people to vote.
We don't need Columbus Day--it is a meaningless BS day commemorating nothing really.
Voting Day should be the holiday. And those against it are showing how unpatriotic they really are.
