The standard definition of racism is "the belief that one race is superior to another."

However, it appears that the concept of racism goes far beyond that for a large segment of our society. Since at least the 1960s, many people have believed that if you support cracking down hard on and punishing people who commit crimes, who deal illegal drugs or who break our immigration laws by coming into our country illegally, then you are also a racist.

So, how did we go from the first definition of racism to this much more expanded definition of racism? Do you agree or disagree with the second definition?

Well, considering that drug laws were created to control certain races and where they lived, worked and spent time...it would be accurate to say that supporting such laws equal 'being racist'...thats pretty simple!

Are laws against murder, assault, burglary, and rape "racist" crimes created by white people to control blacks?

A civil society must have laws to avoid anarchy and maintain some order. If a certain component of the population is committing these crimes, perhaps there should be some introspection and thought as to why that is happening, rather than condemning the justice system for enforcing the laws.

Should we permit certain races to be free to commit whatever crimes they want in order to avoid being called "racist"?

And how those laws are enforced, targeting minorities. And being in this country illegally is not a huge crime, more like a misdemeanor, and seeking asylum is legal regardless of where you enter the country and yet people are incarcerated, families are separated and children are taken with no plans to return them, all of this without even going before a judge. As for "crime", that's about as general as you can get, but I think most people are against crime in general.

The racist card is thrown down continuously to derail, subvert and to otherwise shut up those who go against the narrative.

People need to start pushing back a bit here when called a racist, most people run off and don't engage because everyone is so terrified of that label being thrown at them, they know it, it's why they do it.

It's not rocket science here.

If laws disproportionately place people of color behind bars, then those laws are racist. And if you support them you are a racist.

So, are you saying that the laws should be applied unequally based on race?

The laws need to be less harsh on people of color than they are on white people?

Laws against murder, rape, burglary, etc were never enacted for racist reasons though, it has always applied to all races, drug laws were SPECIFICALLY created to target minorities.(mainly the Chinese at the time). They were never intended to be used against Caucasians.

It is a known fact that drug laws were specifically created for racist reasons though, the creators and writers of the original laws have even admitted that. Its not like someone recently started throwing the down the 'race card' issue in relation to drug laws, this is WHAT they were created for.

They never had a thing to do with protecting anyones health or safety, that was the guise used, they could not just come out and say these laws were to target ONLY the chinese or ONLY the black, they had to make it 'look' like it applied to everyone equally.

That has sort of changed today though, drug laws are used against EVERYONE, Ive seen white kids in upper class neighborhoods arrested for using or selling heroin, meth, etc!! Its more of a money grab today, because all races abuse these drugs.
