There's nothing "ignorant" about it. It's offensive to a lot of people, but that doesn't make it "ignorant".

Nah.

It’s racist and it’s wrong.

These people have ample time while painting their face to realize it’s racist and STOP but they go through with it because.. well, because they are racist.
I never said it wasn't wrong, I said it was potentially wrong due to ignorance, as opposed to malice.
I picked a bad example though, as the dude was standing next to the KKK guy.

A better example would have been the guy who claims he was dressing up as his favorite rapper. Decades ago, before the advent of the internet, was he ignorant, or was he attempting to mock black people?

I don't see that as mocking. If you admire the person, how is it mocking?

Agreed a better example and I understood where you were going with the other example. I realize that as more racially charged stuff keeps coming up, I find myself becoming more Blount or buttheadish in my responses.

It’s amazing how this issue invokes something deep in all Americans. It’s like you can feel the tension it causes and how it draws you into a negative space so quickly.

To some people, it is indeed offensive. What right do I have to tell them not to be offended if they are offended? So the premise of this poll is faulty.

For everyone who believes this to be racist, you MUST be against each individual's natural right to free thought and free speech. There is NO exception. Either a person can express themselves as they want or they cannot. PERIOD. The worst and most hated speech is the speech that needs to be protected from being silenced. Culturally normal (politically correct) speech NEVER needs protection.

I for one do NOT look forward to any of your demands on how I must or must not express myself.

As for me, I choose LIBERTY!

We've really reached a new level of crazy to condemn everything from the past that doesnt conform to the left's political correctness. A perfect example of the authoritarian tendencies of the left.

And to correct one barely literate poster, my comment was about Klan hoods not black face.

You’re free to your speech but not from the consequences of it.

How is painting one’s face racist? Is it written in the stars?
