WASHINGTON — Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee asked the new Democratic chairman to drop the quest to obtain President Donald Trump's tax returns from the Treasury Department.
In a letter to Massachusetts Rep. Richard Neal, who is the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, on Thursday, Republican Reps. Kevin Brady and Mike Kelly pleaded with the chairman to not pursue Trump's tax returns, citing privacy concerns and what they characterized as an abuse of authority.

They ain't gonna get them, and most Republicans do not care. Dems just want the tax returns so that they can find something to become outraged about. No one will ever see them, just as no one will ever see mine.
I think the house Democrats need to focus on legislating and not petty political sniping. Getting his tax returns will be a long drawn out political process (if they're successful) and won't tell anyone anything that Mueller doesn't already know.
America has bigger problems. But of course, the majority of Democrats are quite dumb and have been brainwashed by CNN and MSNBC and some hollywood celebrities to care more about his returns than the direction the country goes.
