Really...Compare coverage of Britt Kavanugh with the Lieutenant governor of Virginia Justin Fairfax....
I understand that the Fairfax story was held in limbo by the Washington post for a couple of months where as the Kavanugh story broke the day of the Kavanugh hearings. Hardly even-steven.
When was the last time you heard about the out come of the allegations against Barney Frank, Robert Packwood, Gary condit, not to mention too numerous too name, Hollywood elite accused. Don't look in either the NYT or WAPO for those stories because more than likely it won't be there or if it is it will be on page 89 lower left column..

In a court of public opinion, no
In a court of law, not always.

Not according to Trump and his supporters, judging by their "Lock her up" chants towards Hillary in the last election.

True. Even if a person did not commit a crime and all criminal investigations on those claims conclude that, a person still could be fired from their job for acting like a jerk or acting creepy.

Still true? Possibly. But NOT when it comes to any kind of sexual offenses. In that case, YOU have to prove your innocence. Most people will believe your accuser, not you.

Remember, a lie or rumor gets 1/2 way around the world before the truth puts on its shoes.

One one hand, the Gov. of VA. will probably leave due to doing the moonwalk (etc.) while the Pres. of the Senate in the very same state.....not only edited that VMI yearbook, but taught classes at William and Mary where - among other things:
"the state senator had “spent 20 minutes fondly remembering how a fraternity on campus dressed as confederates and chained a student in blackface to a tree for the Homecoming Parade.”

In terms of that he taught them about politics....

"Students of color were often assigned to defend the Confederate side, which various students described as deeply uncomfortable.

Even the phrasing of the issues betrayed a clear bias toward Confederate images — a bias students say was evident from Norment’s lectures and his hostile treatment of students assigned to defend the opposite side during the in-class debate."

Now....that is surely a different level than most yearbook pics of students.

Then again, the Lt. Gov. situation....may be the worst of them all.

None currently are criminal cases though, so nothing matters except what the mob thinks.

Perhaps your OP should clarify exactly what venue you are talking about it in regards to?
Edit: Looks like craigiri beat me to it. Well, look at that, craigiri, we actually agree on something for a change.

McMartin v. County of Los Angeles confirmed for me that you're guilty upon accusation, even if aquitted at trial
