So funny how many of these trolls are saying the exact same thing, using the same exact figures and arguing the exact same thing.
It's almost like it's only one troll who's trolling many different forums..... hmmm...
The tax cuts have actually hit the wealthy the hardest. They can no longer deduct their multi-million dollar property taxes over 10k!
It's a joke!
I thought the left wanted the wealthy to pay their fair share?
Not so much as it turns out.
The left are now unabashedly shameless hypocrites. It has become painfully clear to everyone, but them.

Because of ACA I was laid off and rehired 3 months later by my company. I went from a covered employee to a contractor. NY doesn't give me crap! Lucky you! CA will fail so enjoy it while you can.
I'm getting the hell outta this place and moving southwest.

We tried to set it up so Californians paid more, guess we need to ****** with it some more.
And yet, the leftists on this forum still pretend that only "the rich" benefitted. Here are the summary points taken from the article:
Winning: Most US taxpayers
Winning: Most rich people
Winning: Heirs of rich people
Winning: Investors
Winning: Most small business owners
Winning: Red state filers who depend on refunds
Winning: People doing their own taxes
Winning: People taking the standard deduction
Winning: Corporations
Losing: Some rich people, probably in blue states
Losing: Blue state filers who depend on refunds
Losing: People who thought a tax cut would mean a bigger refund
Losing: People who aren't getting a refund but maybe thought they would
Losing: Washington, DC, tax filers
Losing: The US Treasury
Do you realize how typical such a view is for "everything is black/white" conservatives?
The couple who "wins" a quarter per day is counted as a "win" just like the corporation that got 400 million!
If one actually does math they'd find this:
Lose - The Budget Deficit, the Debt, any attempt to get anywhere near balanced.
Win - Rich People
That is simplistic also, but more accurate. That $1 or less per day that a "normal" person somewhere may have seem will be lost very quickly just in paying the interest on the national debt...let alone the policies that will have to be put into play to balance the budget.
Your world view seems to be "run the presses and give me money from future generations = Winner".
And the pols will do exactly as you say. Yet people scratch their heads and wonder why the USA is going down the tubes? Simple! Lack of Responsibility and Greed.
everybody was told to adjust their tax withholdings in feb 2018 because your paycheck would reflect the tax cut. If people were stupid enough not to make adjustments, they'll pay more at the end of the year. Not rocket science, except for a few cretins.
That's why I hire an accountant, but I believe there are various calculations based on your other sources of income which determine exactly how much of your SS is taxed????
I see 19 separate lines, many with calcs, just on the SS page
"Form 1040 Social Security Benefits Worksheet"
My point is that nothing has been simplified. If anything it has been made more complex.
And...obviously this "reform" puts 100's of thousands per into the pockets of the very wealthy compared to years past.....while at the same time putting our budget FURTHER out of balance.
So MY POINT...would be to ask you if larger deficits, more complicated returns and giving money from debt and deficit in large sums to the .01% are all good things?
To me they are all negative.
You do realize that "worksheets" are for your benefit and not a required part of your return?
Now that my checks are mailed...I am done.
It certainly didn't make the whole process any simpler.
Due to popular demand, I counted the pages which are part and parcel of the Fed Return only - none of the letters or estimated or stuff like that, returns only. 45 for the Federal, ending with pages of the Social Security worksheets and the -27 dollars of Foreign Tax credits which must be part of an oil ETF or the like.
That's for a retired couple with no current employment and no itemizing.
Not to say I expected a "Trump Postcard" filing, but less than 10 pages would have seems possible.
Retired couple, no itemizing, but with wage income as well as a business. Foreign tax credit and qualified dividend calculations
26 pages...includes wage income, social security, foreign tax credit and schedule C business. 16 pages related to the business.
Total Federal tax down about 10%. Marginal tax rate went from 15% to 12%.
Oh, NO STATE INCOME TAX...I can't see why your return is 45 pages without a business.
Only one in five Americans believe their taxes went down, which makes it hard to justify the change in tax law. I know for fact my taxes increased by a very large amount.

The important word in that sentence is "believe". People who got an extra $50 per paycheck (because the withholding tables were adjusted down) but saw their refund go down by $400 "believe" the law increased their taxes.
Yeah--go ahead and vote for the dumpocrats--they are floating taxing you 70% at the very least..
Where did you get this crazy idea??
