In order to prevent further suffering from being inflicted on the 800,000 American workers, the Dems and Repubs need to work together to get a bill passed that won't be too much of an affront to Trump's ego.

The 5 billion dollars could be allocated as a border defense fund to be used to repair existing walls, build new walls in strategic areas, increase border patrol agents and purchase and implement newer technologies.

The fund would be drawn on by border authorities in the ways that they think is best, would require sign off from the governors of affected sites, and be limited to a draw of $50 million per year.

I think these parameters leave enough wiggle room that all parties could work out a deal that would be satisfactory and the monster 'ego' can be appeased.

Maybe Trump will grow a set this time and let the government stay shut down forever.

It’s not about the wall anymore. Liberals are hyperventilating about bed space in detention Centers.

I say fund the gov at 2018 levels until end of year.

Then the Obama budget cuts come into play and Trump can not sign a bill reauthorizing 55 billion in domestic spending unless he gets his 6 billion in wall money. AOC and other idiot socialists will go into hysterics if that sequestration comes into play.

There's your answer right there. 800,000 government tax leeches.

As a Trump supporter, this would be acceptable to me, but Chuck and Nancy have doubled down and because Trump has come in as a newcomer, disrupting their way of life they've had for decades, they are unwilling to give him a win.

Even though they voted for border barriers in 2006, they now claim these are 'racist' - in reality, they have come to understand that the future of their party depends on illegal immigration and their offspring, so they are not willing to fund even $1, as they've said.

It felt good, didn't it?

Like a cold virus leaving your body each day of the shutdown I felt better, stronger, and younger.

Almost like freedom was being returned to my body and soul.

I hope he declares the national emergency and builds the wall.

Then can make it however he wants.
