You caught me. Actually my whole life is wrapped up on being concerned about who had the larger crowd in competing rallies in El Paso. If it appears that the crowd for Trump was larger, my whole day has been shattered!
I watched a little of the speech. Trump was in fine form and having a great time. He was ad-libing and working with the crowd, commenting on signs and comments that he heard them make.
He claimed El Paso only had 26 murders, while Juarez had something over 1000. I don't know that the Juarez figures are right, but he's about right on El Paso. State department has issued a travel warning to Juarez.
People are turning against the Democrat viewpoint. Would have worked out better for Democrats if they could have ever told us why they are opposed to a wall.
Trump's Rasmussen score today is 50%/48%.
Where does the number of murders put El Paso on the list of cities crime-wise for cities of it’s size?
In 2018, it was #7 on the safest list.
Doesn’t sound like much of what is going on in Juárez is spilling over.
It's amazing when you think about it. Having a city like Juarez would be a major blight on America, and the thing that separates Juarez from El Paso is only a few inches thick and 20 feet high........Well, that and our traditions, political system, constitution and so forth.
Mexico, heal thyself.
MAGA

There's a little more separation than that.
For example, there's this river, you might have heard of it, called the Rio Grande.
A couple of terrific articles about the long connections between the two cities here:
As for whether a city like Juarez could exist here, well, a "normal" weekend on the south side of Chicago would suggest otherwise.
And the abject poverty seen in some parts of Mississippi could certainly rival what one might see there.
Bottom line: despite all of the daily comings and goings between El Paso and Juarez, El Paso is still safer than many, many, many other cities in this country.
Trump can't even be bothered to get out of bed to start work at a normal time each morning. Most days he starts work at 11AM per the schedule leaks of his "executive time". He sits in bed and watches TV and tweets most mornings.
Only 100 showed up, probably all illegals. You could hear Trump's rally drowning him out lol
So I'm sure I missed Merriman's post where he admitted he was wrong about the crowd at Beto's event. Some reports say it was 5,000 people. I saw reports that it was closer to 7,000 people, a big difference than the OP saying it was 100 people. But then we have seen before where size matters to Trump. On Day 1 of his presidency, he was defending crowd size at his inauguration.
Some say the crowd at the event Beto spoke at (which was not a Beto event, by the way) appeared smaller because there was a march which led to the event that a lot of people participated in. It's like when people would show pictures of a half-empty NFL stadium and claim no one was at the game. And then you'd realize they took that picture an hour before the game started when people were still filing in or tailgating.
If Trump had estimated the size of his crowd, it would have been magnified 1,000 X.
That is probably more true than you would think. though the 1,000 X" might be off the mark.

“A young man who's got very little going for himself except he's got a great first name. He challenged us. So we have, let's say 35,000 people tonight, and he has, say, 200 people, 300 people," Trump said, before predicting that the media would not acknowledge the disparity.
