I've never understood why a President, any President, needs more time off than the rest of us. Yeah, they have a tough job, but is it more tough than say, a guy who is working in the hot sun all day doing roofing ? Or a firefighter or cop who risk their lives every day ?

If I told my employer that I was going to fly off to some resort this week on their dime, they would say, "have a nice time and don't come back !"

I have no idea how much fuel AF1 burns.
Ask all the small businesses that shut down every time the mad king lands. Small airports shut down, all the workers, maintenance and service people must be banished from Palm Beach before the king arrives, roads closed, hotels/restaurants inaccessible all lose money.

The US pays for SS rooms, golf carts, ad nauseum. A disgusting display of self-entitled extravagance, billed to the US taxpayer.

We're all hoping that Trump moves into a mansion among his supporters in West Virginia or Tennessee, so they can enjoy all this ruination of businesses and quality of life this bozo causes. So convenient that he's giving an 'antisocialism' speech in Florida.

An antisocialism speech while we pay for him to stay at a luxury resort.

I happen to live in the wide exclusion zone of his golf club in NJ.

I have a friend with a drone. It wont even power up when Trump is wasting everyones time in Bedminster during the summer. All the local airports are closed. A local parachute jumping place went out of business. Happens a lot during the summer. All presidents are a PITA and should not be traveling every weekend. Yes same goes for any Dem. Stay in DC and stop wasting everyones time and business.

I could get behind this. Biden used to come down here to Kiawah ALL the time for short trips. We are a water locked place with very few highways. He always seemed to come at rush hour and they would close the entire highway for several hours at rush hour for his visit. He managed to gridlock the whole flipping city. Being a President or VP is just different thanks to the security requirements and I think there should be limits on their mini-vacations because gotta tell ya, being in one of those locales they visit? MAJOR issue.

How Much Are Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Trips? Watchdog Agency Struggles to Find Out
By Katie Rogers

The agency ended up studying only four trips the president took over a one-month period in 2017 and found that government agencies, including the Defense Department and the Secret Service, spent some $13.6 million — an average of over $3 million for each trip — to transport and protect the president, with the bulk of the expenses going to cover the cost of military aircraft and boats during that time.

The tab, officials say, is most likely higher since the total expenses that administration members racked up traveling, dining and staying at the resort are not known for the four trips, much less for the 218 days of his presidency that Mr. Trump has spent at one of his properties. Of that total, 78 of the days were spent at Mar-a-Lago.

That just makes me wonder if the defense department and secret service are spend money protecting the president even when he isnt going to Mar-a-Lago and what did they use boats for?

Racist NYT? Huh. Why is Trump giving them an interview? Just Google Trump gives interview to NYT and you'll find numerous sources talking about it. It can't be fake news or racist if Trump is doing interviews with it now can they? Can't be failing either right.

So Trump donates around 78k each quarter of his taxes. How magnanimous. That's like you or I donating a Benjamin. How about he donates all of the money needed to cover his many trips to his golf courses to the tune of about 3 million a trip? I'd like that even better. It will be interesting to see how the emoluments lawsuits pan out. How much money is Trump making by using his office to garner deals? His salary? Chump change, but you go on your merry way praising dear leader for every crumb if it gets you through the night. Please sir, can I have another? Ah nope, not for me thanks.

Have to remember a lot of the cost involved in moving a president around is mainly due to secret service regulations, some of the things they require are utterly ridiculous and HUGE waste of money.

Its fine that people get upset and outraged about the cost, but at least direct at those responsible (not the president himself).

Dont get me wrong though, I do understand the need for security when a president travels, but like I said above, a lot of the SS requirements are total waste of money.

Sorry to break the news to you BUT, the president IS working 7 days a week.

He IS working even while at his "home".

He IS working because he HAS TO HAVE the "football" wherever he goes.

MORE "work" is done on golf courses then you can ever imagine.
