Right-leaning independent... couldn't care one iota about gay marriage. If someone wants to marry a slice of Apple pie for crying out loud, I say go for it.
Just stop shoving it in my face, and asking me to be "aware" of it every other day. I'm aware of it thank you, and I simply don't care.
Who is asking you to be aware of it? Are you forced to watch "Grace and Frankie"?
I'm sick of heterosexuals shoving their heterosexuality in my face every day. It's everywhere! In movies, on television, in commercials, outdoor advertising, people walking down the street holding hands and kissing--you name it, there it is, in your face! I mean, really, must they flaunt their heterosexuality everywhere, every day, 24/7? It's disgusting.
Misguided thinking, IMO.
For starters, there are simply more hetereosexual people in the world than homosexuals, by a long shot. That's just a fact. It makes sense that there will be disproportionately more heterosexuals in movies, on TV, in ads, etc.
Second, you seem to be looking for something to critique, whereas others, myself included, watch movies or TV shows and see the people in them simply as people... we're not sitting there trying to break down their different racial attributes and sexualities.

LOL. Did you notice a gust of wind above you as the point flew right over your head?

Pretty sure that was a satirical post to highlight the absurdity of heteros complaining about gay people being "in your face" with their gayness.

Yeah it's very rare for a movie these days to have an LGBTQ lead if they have any LGBTQ characters at all. It's a little more common on TV sitcoms but still isn't the majority. It seems like social conservatives just look for things to get outraged about.
Conservatives: How have you personally been negatively impacted by same-sex marriage?
Nope. In fact, when Maryland put it on a state referendum back in 2012, I voted Yes.
I see it neither as an abomination nor a golly-gee-cool sort of thing. I am a Conservative. What two adults chose to do with their lives is of no concern to me. If it makes people happy, and it seems to do just that, then that is great.
