Obama was the coolest, but in my life time I don't think there were any great presidents. We still have people working in low paid jobs, no affordable health care and people are homeless in this country. This is a country that glorifies the rich.....
What is "your lifetime".
The OP is about which ones were nice people .......not good Presidents.
My first President was IKE so...............
I’m partial to Lyndon Johnson who was a major a-hole and a typical southern bigot. Not to mention that he wrongly bought into the Pentagon’s bull**** on Vietnam.
But he believed strongly in his convictions and had a great sense of noblesse oblige. He couldn’t fathom why so many people got left behind in a nation as wealthy as ours. If I had to trust a president, I’d trust him over all others. He was a great man. Said what he meant and meant what he said.
Any president who believes abortion is acceptable is NOT a good person. Abortion is killing little babies. Carter threw his supposed religious faith overboard. No principles.
Fetuses are not "little babies"...this is a recording!

Jimmy Carter. Pre-my-lifetime (at least in the 20th century), probably Dwight Eisenhower.
Good post.
Eisenhower is a very underrated president (& human being). Mature, unifying leadership..
My opinion, Carter's presidency was terrible. But he seems like a good Christan philanthropist, etc.
In the end, best person is a subjective perspective tho..
