I’m partial to Lyndon Johnson who was a major a-hole and a typical southern bigot. Not to mention that he wrongly bought into the Pentagon’s bull**** on Vietnam.

But he believed strongly in his convictions and had a great sense of noblesse oblige. He couldn’t fathom why so many people got left behind in a nation as wealthy as ours. If I had to trust a president, I’d trust him over all others. He was a great man. Said what he meant and meant what he said.

How was Carter a terrible president?

He funded/supported the slaughter of 200K innocents in Timor.

He supported the Khmer Rouge as well.

Dude was palsy with Pol Pot and Bin Laden. What's not to love about that?

And I despise the Democratic Party (although I have nothing against Democrats as people) and my family did not support Carter in '76 or '80.

Good post.
Eisenhower is a very underrated president (& human being). Mature, unifying leadership..

My opinion, Carter's presidency was terrible. But he seems like a good Christan philanthropist, etc.

In the end, best person is a subjective perspective tho..
