A number of major airlines including Delta and American have announced that they are adding new gender options to accommodate passengers who identify as non-binary so they no longer have to choose between either male or female.

Naturally you can fly with another airline until they adopt my business model or start your own airline.

Ah, every time you make a reservation on-line. Check the box male/female and the website won't go forward until you do. What's the big freaking deal, check a damn box. If people are unhappy about being asked, they should complain loud and hard and even vote with their feet. Although airlines are hardly a capitalist enterprise, its how they should be regulated.
Every carrier requires disclosure of gender. This went into effect after 9/11, along with the need for adults to present a photo ID.
Several countries provide for a third gender on state - issued documents. Not all would be considered so- called liberal countries.
