I am tired of paying for their defense against Russia, and others to subsidize their socialism, and America hate. Why should we spend so much if they are secure enough to buy their energy from Russia.

Everyone is living in some fantasy world to believe that USA is needed to defend Germany against Russia. Ask Germans this and they'd laugh at you. NATO is becoming a prison for all the members who joined as it's not about defense but really offense -> keep isolating Russia and make sure USA hegemony reigns supreme.
There is no longer the USSR, Russia is only a threat to her immediate neighbors over territorial disputes. Germany and Western Europe are safe. Russia is not insane, and knows attacking those countries will be the last thing she ever does.
