One of the basic ideas of the Constitution is that (1) Presidents don't make the laws, and (2) certain powers - including Power of the Purse - are reserved for the Congress.
With this "national emergency," you conservatives support your guy just bypassing Congress altogether and implementing his policies (which he couldn't get support through Congress) via royal decree.
That's basically called a dictatorship. Might as well disband Congress and just annoint Donald as King.
If you're for this stuff, then you're opposed to the spirit and concept of the Constitution.

Trump supporters apparently don't know the difference between a bill that passes both Houses of Congress and is signed into law, and a president attempting to take the Constitutionally given power of the purse away from Congress and do whatever the hell he wants with it.

Evidently no one was upset when Obama did it 13 times evidenced by the fact that there were no lawsuits and Obama didn't try to circumvent Congress to do it.
He's not securing the border. He's not hiring more border patrol nor sending the military to guard the border. Those would be legitimate uses of his authority. Instead, he's going to use eminent domain to take people's properties and render the remainder of many properties worthless (cutting off access to water). He's going to take money allocated for other uses and use it for a fence project Congress refused to fund. The precedent he's setting is very dangerous and Nancy Pelosi already gave a hint of what they will use it for in the future.

There are already fences and barriers along the borders. Many of the law enforcement along the borders don't see a crisis. Even the CBP doesn't think a "wall" is the answer. This crisis is all in Trump's head. Hell, he even said he didn't have to do it. Does that sound like a national emergency to you? If there were such an emergency, why didn't he declare it two years ago when immigration migration was higher?
Well duh, of course, its not an 'emergency' to them, after all, they have to ensure the drugs keep flowing in consistently, cannot wage a justifiable drug war thru out the country if the supply is reduced or stopped.
Plus, many smaller police depts rely on budget money for the drug war, along with stuff they get from raids, busts, cash and property seizures, that are auctioned off, reducing or stopping the flow of drugs into these areas would be devastating to the depts and their families.

Calling for a national emergency isn't unconstitutional. Using it to circumvent congress' power of the purse is.
