Most genuine incidents of hate crimes involve racial slurs and the like, even though that is not guarantee (how many fake hate crime incidents have we seen that involved nooses, swastikas, and racial slurs?). But it is highly unlikely that a random person committing a genuine hate crime is going to blurt out Trump's name.
There are many on the left who sincerely yet incorrectly believe that there is this large group of hateful Americans who feel that Trump's election gives them the right to openly attack people in Trump's name. It's not true, but it's what they believe. This is why when they make up their fake hate crimes they think that adding Trump's name to it, or one of his slogans to it, makes it sound more believable when precisely the opposite is true. It is this lack of understanding about the mindset of Trump and his supporters that is behind much of the blind hate these leftists have towards the man himself and the people who voted for him.

Conservatism and support for Trump are not about hatred. That's a talking point...propaganda really, not reality, but too many on the left are guilty of believing their own bull****.

no.
we cannot.

The solution is quite obvious. A crime is a crime and adding to it because the alleged victim is part of a protected group makes one group of people more important than others which is simply wrong.

Time to end the notion of hate crimes. It just opens a Pandora's box of lies and exaggerated stories like the actor in Chicago.

Its unfortunate people have to lie to get attention with media and sympathy .. I do feel they need medical help and a swift kick to jail. Our LEO have limited resources and some people abuse them to the point where real crimes cant be worked on.
Adwoa, is that a real name? There is too damn much hate going on in this country, and people are blaming one man. Yet prior to his election as POTUS they all liked him. Look at his history, pros and cons and be honest..

People all over the internet are trying to excuse the Jussie Smollett situation by saying, basically, "well real hate crimes do happen and that's bad, all he was doing was showing that, his case shows that hate against blacks and gays is still alive." No, all he was doing was creating a fake story, wasting cops' time and money, and creating more political and probably racial divisiveness that may actually lead to more real hate crimes because doing what he likely did (still officially unconfirmed it was made up but looks bad for him) will cause extremists on both sides of the political spectrum to have even more anger at one another.
True, but this thread title is the other end of the extreme, where someone is attempting to count fake stories and basically claim there is no discrimination or homophobia.

There is discrimination of all kinds but is there really a rash of hate attacks in Trump's name since he was elected? I don't think there is, and just about every public case of this happening has turned out to be a hoax.

Yes, you can. It is called making a false report.

When was the last time one of these "incidents" was not a hoax?

Libs are becoming more and more crazy as time goes on. They NEED to be victims, so in the absence of persecution, they make things up.

Liberalism is a very sick disorder which celebrates victimhood.

Adwoa Lewis, 19, of Baldwin, told police she was driving home around 11 p.m. on Sept. 2 when four teens confronted her, yelled “Trump 2016!” and told her she “didn’t belong here,” Nassau County police said.

Lewis said she woke up the next morning after parking her car in front of her house and discovered her tire had been slashed. A note on her car read, “Go Home,” she told police.

But after carrying out an “extensive investigation,” police discovered the confrontation with the teens hadn’t taken place, and Lewis admitted she’d written the note and put it on her car.

Can we at least fine the people for the time wasted by the authorities? The local taxpayers have to foot the bill for this nonsense. Ridiculous...
Sounds like just more of the Maxi Waters "protest" orders being carried out.

Create false scenarios, falsely accuse imaginary attacker, identify false attacker as Trump supporters wear MAGA hats.

When these hoaxes happen, they should be totally condemned but unfortunately many will dig their heels in.
If you really want to shut somebody down on that topic.

Point out to them that the FBI hate crime statistics for attacks on gay black men show roughly as many are committed by black men as by white men IN TOTAL. After adjusting for population it's about 6x as many attacks by black men on black gay men.

CNN ran an article recently about attacks on Black Trans men being murdered. They even mentioned one example (black preacher on trial) and of course brought up Trump....but left out all statistics on whom is actually killing black trans men. The vast majority were killed by black men, CNN just intentionally left it out beyond the anecdotal example.

One of the ugliest and saddest pieces of journalism masquerading as trying to help bring attention to an issue but really just used as a political prop.

Agreed but the other links I've seen that poster put up with examples are all stories I've seen in mainstream media. I don't know about this one, I won't click on infowars etc.
