Mexico needs to declare a fake crisis and put a stop to all these gringos pouring in over the border trying to get cheap health and dental care....

https://truthout.org/articles/millio...f_AQpgAW4uPlNQ

Quote:
At just one checkpoint in Yuma, Arizona, up to 6,000 Americans cross the border every day and enter the bustling Mexican town of Los Algodones, seeking heath care.

Unlike the Trump administration that seeks to build a wall between the countries, Los Algodones welcomes Americans seeking dental care with open arms.

Los Algodones has to be seen to believed. There are more dentists per capita than anywhere else in the world. It seems like every square foot of public space wall is covered with advertisements promising quality and affordable dental care, vision care and prescription drugs. The community’s economy is built to serve the flood of “dental refugees” — mostly senior citizens from the US and Canada seeking major dental care they cannot afford in their own countries, even with insurance.
Quote:
If you casually compare the magnitude of border crossings, the crisis of the US’s for-profit healthcare system becomes apparent. According to US Customs and Border Protection, border crossings of Mexican and Central American refugees — the border crossings Trump and Fox News rage about 24/7 — ranged from 20,000 to roughly 60,000 people per month in 2018. In Los Algodones alone, nearly five times as many American dental refugees are going the opposite way. To get an idea of the absurdity, one could argue there are more people currently fleeing the US’s health care system than refugees seeking asylum from extreme violence and state terror in Central America.

Not sure of the purpose of this thread. Does Mexico not want this so called caravan? Seems like it is a money maker for them, people paying cash at the point of the dental procedure for services. Quite different than illegals going to an ER here without the ability to pay for the services given at that time.

You mean illegals going to farms and construction sites doing jobs citizens won't do? Trying to keep this thread fact-filled.

Doesn’t look like caravans to me. How do you know they are not returning Mexicans instead of Americans.

Capitalism at work. Prices for medical care in the USA are outrageous. Consumers can find cheaper service elsewhere, so that is what many are doing. Dems had a chance to make improvements to our health care system, but instead, they rewarded health insurance companies by creating a new tax to punish anyone who does not have health insurance. Nice work demwits.

And what did the GOP do after 6 years of ****ting on Obamacare? That's right they CHOKED. The GOP has zero credibility on anything healthcare related.

Your thread was about healthcare, calling them dental refugees. So the comparison to illegals using our healthcare resources shows the difference between the 2 groups: the dental refugees bring cash and pay for their services, the illegals go to ER s here and don't pay.
Temporary farm workers are a different story than refugees. They are contracted to be here for a certain time and get paid for their services. They are not here to claim asylum.
Illegal construction workers have enabled companies from paying a fair wage to those employed in the construction business and has contributed greatly to wage inequality. In the past a construction job was a ticket to the middle class, particularly among less educated minorities. Now the illegals have undercut the salaries for the profession, preventing many blue collar workers from earning their fair share.

This. Free market at work. Quality care for a better price. Paid out of pocket. I live in Mexico, had dental work done recently, as did my wife and a daughter. All happy with it, I reckon I saved 25K over heavily regulated U.S. dentists doing it.

In the border towns it is a real industry (although attention needs to be paid to quality for sure). I support this.

Proof? The only deadbeats I know are the uninsured Trump voters who no longer have to buy insurance any more because their MAGA savior repealed the individual mandate (which was ironically, a republican idea).

Illegals pay taxes too, btw, you probably didnt know (or care to know) that either.
