the senate represents the states, not the individual (that would be the house of reps)
every state, yes EVERY STATE is EQUALLY (and thus fairly) represented by the senate with 2 senators each

The "poorly schooled" are those who don't understand that the founding fathers never intended for the Constitution to remain set in stone for 250 years. They were wise enough to understand that America will change, and the Constitution should evolve to accommodate modern day America.

The Constitution was written to last. There have been Amendments over the years to keep it that way.

Well, actually, they pretty much did intend for it to remain cast in stone for thousands of years.
If you doubt that proposition, I suggest you commence the process of amending the Constitution to change the U.S. Senate into the U. S. House of Representatives No. 2, which is what Senate representational apportionment by population would be.
It won't take too long for you to realize that while the Founding Fathers did in fact provide for a process by which to amend the Constitution, they neither made it easy, nor did they intend for it to be.
My off-hand "guesstimate" is that Texas will get 9 (give or take one or so). So Texas benefits too. People in Georgia and North Carolina should be onboard with this one too. Even Tennessee and Missouri would be wise to join in.
How about instead of changing something that has been successfully working for over 225 years, we instead divide up California into 3 or more states? That way they can have more Senators.
Seriously, why does one state own 2/3rd of the entire West coast while the other 1/3rd is divided into 2 smaller states? It makes no sense.

but the way our government is set up, is not made to be amended...
you have the peoples house (house of reps)... based on populations of the states, but limited so that we are not talking about thousands of reps
the states house (house of the Senate)... represents each and every state equally and fairly..2 senators per state... if PR, or Guam, or even the Virgin Islands were to become a state, they would get 2 senators, and they would get reps based on their populations
New York has ALWAYS had two senators The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State. [U.S. Constitution, Article I, section 3, clause 1]
New York just recently lost a representative due to a shrinkage of population

HoR= represent the people, based on population, and answer to the people (every two years( yes every two years COMPLETE turn-over of the HoR))

The Senate has two members from each state because that's how it was designed and that is how it should stay.
My issue is that the Electoral College is so disproportionate. There is no reason that people in states with tiny populations should have a greater vote than people in states with large populations. And I'm willing to bet my last dollar that the conservatives who think it should be that way would be singing a different tune if those in Montana and Wyoming and North Dakota voted blue and cancelled out the votes in Texas or South Carolina.
It’s estimated by 2040 that 70% of Americans will live in 15 states. That means that 30% of Americans will be represented by 70% of the Senate.
Any such changes won’t happen unless there is a democratic super majority because Republicans will disenfranchise voters and steal elections to remain in power, as they know the math is not on their side.
So because some states refuse to enforce immigration laws, we should change our system of government, so that these (misguided) states can then control the country? Sorry, pal. Don't think so.
