Since the right wing hates teachers, of course kids will receive liberal indoctrination. Fine by me.

I dont hate teachers. Why are you so hell bent on hating conservatives? WTH.
Cost of living in Cali is atrocious. And if you want to play the game, live in that state where I was born, (Vallejo and raised till leaving for my last year of HS), and whining about the cost of living and how little teachers get paid, I would suggest leave.
Many other non union jobs dont pay well. But they dont have powerful unions that can suck more money out of your proverbial turnip in Cali citizens.

I understood the poster just fine - he said live in the state - meaning California and then in parenthesis gave the city is was raised in. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out but when presented with an opinion that differs from theirs - liberals tend to deflect or look for something else they can pick on.

A living wage specific to Oakland would be a nice thing. The median price of a home there is $750,000. Do the math. Oakland, of course, always has the option of doing without local schools. The kids can be homeschooled or bused elsewhere.

Uh, yea not really. Some are certainly. Some are marginally. Some are parasites like Lampert and some Bain players.

Nearly $1000 a month in taxes, and over $900k for that dumpy house on a tiny lot-in freekin' Oakland? Insane.

That includes shop expenses if they have one(light bill, insurance, phone), tool costs, the repair truck, insurance for the truck, liability insurance, the time it took to drive there, etc.
