90% of blacks might vote democrat......but that does not mean that 90% of eligible black voters will vote. The goal would be to increase black voter participation.

You can't say Liz doesn't know how to "walk the walk"... every penny she has ever earned has gone to the Pretendian Tribe!

Whites today had nothing to do with slavery. And if you're going to argue that their descendants inherited generational wealth, well, my grandparents didn't arrive here until the 20th century. (They were arrived penniless, by the way, living in tenements, and yet a generation later their kids were all college graduates and homeowners.)

Instead of demanding white people hand over a fortune (I read an earlier post....you're demanding $400,000 for each black person), blacks can do the following:

1) Do not have a baby until you are married and have completed your post high school education, which is:
2) At the minimum, go to community college for a vocationally-oriented 2-year program, paid for by Pell Grants...
3) ....Or, for those who are "college material," earning a B-average in high school, enroll in a CC program that transfers all credits to a 4-year-school, continue the good grades, get an academic scholarship to the transfer school (in addition to the Pell Grants), have a part-time job during school, and graduate with little to debt
4) Get a job
5) Get married, if you wish
6) Then have children, if you wish

That's the formula.
Conservative black people such as Larry Elder and others have been beating this drum for a long long time. Too bad those guys saying basically the truth get vilified and it's usually by liberal white people.

It's a shame we appear to have lost some of our basic common sense.

Doing those basic steps in this country will yield you a decent shot at things. Doing the opposite, will certainly not get you a decent shot. Doesn't matter what nationality you are.

Look at the Asian community for example. They pretty much destroy identity politics, it's why they are never talked about by the far leftist types.

Apples and oranges. These are rights written into law at the time they were relevant. To enact something that affects no one in this country in present day is simply pandering and quite frankly trying to keep people down. As though to say “you can’t get ahead without us so here’s some money to keep you in line”.

It’s quite condescending.

Well............................... America was almost completely built by white men. Every major political, economic, and scientific advancement for the nation is enjoyed by all citizens today due to the efforts of white men.

So I would offer that "reparations" of at least $2million per head be paid to all white males for the contributions of their ancestors, as they far exceed the very small "contribution" slaves made to the US.

Also, I think that blacks today should pay the bill (inflation adjusted of course) for the Civil War, as that effort was used to free them.

You see, "reparations" can be demanded by any group for reasons just as absurd as "slavery reparations".

What you are really saying; If your great great great grandparents had the family jewels stolen from them and the now deceased thief handed them off to his descendents, you as a descendent of the rightful owner would no longer have claim to them.

Of course the politicians currently forwarding reparation schemes aren't the least bit concerned about proving any such chain of ownership or damages. They want to dip into the pot of everyones tax dollars and purchase votes with it

How would this work? Would there be some kind of payout to the present generation of blacks in America? What if the next generation of blacks demand their payout?
I am so confused.

Link attributes Harris’s support for reparations to the NYT, which according to some is fake news.

Of course you will see it as apples and oranges. In the abstract, however, they are both "fruits", which is my point. People did things in the past that carry over to your benefit and people have done things in the past that carry over to others detriment. The "governments", whether it be federal or state, condoned and facilitated the oppression of a race of people for "centuries". You might think its simple "black nature" to be in a state of economic inequality racially, but some will argue that the inequality is the carryover from centuries of government supported racial oppression.

Uh.....we did not ask for the white man inventions. Maybe had you been inventive sooner......you would not have needed to enslave Africans. Furthermore, I don't understand why so many of you had to leave Europe for better lives....given that it was all white at the time. It seems to me that when you all lived in areas that were all white, the masses of whites were poor, despite your "inventions". It was not until you set sail away from Europe and colonized others land, labor and resources does things start to get a lot better for the average white person. It was see saw economics. Your end got lifted up by the weight of the other races you oppressed.

They aren't news, they are propaganda. Whatever the tribe can be sold while selling a ton of ads is the goal.

The truth isn't so important anymore, however it does accidentally get printed sometimes - Broken Clocks.
