Mark Harris, the Republican candidate for a U. S. House seat in North Carolina, appeared to have a solid lead of about 900 votes from last November's election, until recently. But it's been revealed that an operative hired by Harris tampered with about 1,000 absentee ballots that were thought to have come from democratic voters. The results of the vote are now in question and another special election will be held, unanimously ordered by the State Board of Elections. I'm wondering how often this type of criminal activity has taken place to skew elections, in this part of the country? How much chance does Harris have of winning this new vote, after he has been found to have cheated like this? The article linked below goes on to say that Harris is suspected to have also tampered with ballots in the Republican primary, to defeat incumbent Robert Pittenger for the party's nomination. Maybe Pittenger will get to have another run at reelection, but enough voters in that district may be soured against that party too much to win with anyone?

Harris claimed he knew nothing about it, then his son testified and showed correspondence between them about the son's concerns over the illegality of the absentee ballot business.

This investigation has been going on for months now, and finally Harris admits he knew what was going on all along.

Seems to me Harris should be prosecuted for perjury and his role in this scam and disqualified from running for election.

But this is North Carolina, so who knows?

I don't know how he isn't guilty of a crime.

Yup. It's like when GOP big wigs are found to be employing illegal immigrants. No big deal.

I just heard on WBT radio that a primary may be held in May and the general election in October. That seems like a very long time to go without representation. His GP{ primary (who was the incumbent) had said previously he would not run again if there was a redo. But who knows. He may have a change of heart if the GOP comes calling

The GOP loves to project their own problems.

They know they do it, so they assume everyone else does too.

It IS too long.

Random stupid thought. Election season is too long. Hold a primary in May and a general in August.
