NK will have nukes no matter what that fool of a president thinks.
Obama having talks with Castro was about instituting normal relationships with a country 90 miles off our southern border a totally different set of circumstances.https://www.essence.com/news/ways-pr...uba-relations/
Russia supported N.K. nuclear capability that grew into its current missile program.
The two nations signed a mutual-defense pact in 1961 and another treaty 2000. Though they share only an 11 mile border, Russia benefits from having a nuclear power representing their interests in the region.
There is no scenario in which Putin would support realistic denuclearization of N.K. It is simply not in Russia or his interest to do so.
Putin and Kim's goal this time around is likely to get Trump offer to offer economic aid, or at least ease economic sanctions.
This would allow the ruling elite to prosper and protect them from unrest.
It makes sense for Russia to be at this meeting, especially if anything big comes out of it like a peace treaty between the US and NK. Both China and Russia see NK as a buffer between their countries and the US-Japan-SK alliance. I am sure Russia wants to keep that buffer strong militarily.
Trump is so desperate for a win after getting trashed over his wall, and he covets a Nobel, that he is the wrong guy to be negotiating. He will give away the farm. He criticized Obama for exactly what he is doing. At least the Obama treaty with Iran left Iran without nukes. I will be surprised if NK ever gives up theirs.

Exactly. I don't know why fools are thinking Trump is colluding with Russia on this. Russia's best interest is to keep NK a nuclear threat to US allies in the Pacific.

It is indeed in Russia's best interest to keep N.K. a nuclear threat.
It is also in their best interest for sanctions to be eased so that N.K. can pay for building their nuclear capabilities.
So why is Trump taking advice from Putin's minister, Lavrov?
What possible advice would be in the U.S.'s best interest?
