Completely agree. It is their mess, let them deal with it.

But, "largest oil reserves" tells you all the reason why we are getting involved.

Where were we when other countries had to fight, themselves, to topple socialism? I guess they didn't have anything we wanted. And yet, they successfully overthrew (and killed) the dictator.

Socialism is clearly working well for Maduro, he looks well fed.

Thats the sort of logic here. Its impressive in its deception. Anyone thinking Venezuela is socialist is missing whats causing the issues there. Hint-its not socialism, its authoritarianism, and corruption.
By OP’s standards, all developed countries with basic levels of social safety net are like Venezuela.

Unless of course the dictator was installed by us. Guatemala, Chile, etc.

Can you give a short brief on how this terrible episode in Venezuela was caused by corruption and not Venezuela's socialist government?
Cuba, another socialist nation, is also a complete disaster and incredibly poor, although they aren't starving to death.

Yes. Anyone who collects Social Security or Medicare, or has borrowed a book from the public library, please move to Venezuela.

Those aren't really examples of socialism though.
When most folks think of socialism, they think of the government taking control over the means of production, e.g. taking over most of the big industries, manufacturing, banks, telecommunication companies, etc.

Socialism doesn't work- period. That's true for Venezuela and anywhere else. The people at the top are always corrupt, and they have no accountability.
