I have read on here several times and each time I am left scratching my head that Trump is the most centrist president we have had. I want to know two things with this thread: one if you think Trump is centrist or left or right and two, why it is you think that.

I'll start first, he is right if not far-right. Why I say this is because he is not for the real fixes to say immigration or tax reform but rather the fringe ideas. He believes immigrants send money back to their homeland and not spend it here and chain migration. Both claims aren't proven nor disproven. His stance on Muslim nations minus Saudi Arabia is total typical anti-Arab discrimination we saw post-9/11. He is very much a Putin supporter which was common with the right even under W. Bush. His tax policy has helped the rich get richer and not much for the middle class except if they live in areas that were hit with the SALT reduction.

I would go with none of the above. He's a puppet. He doesn't have a fight in this game. He's doing what his masters are telling him to do.

I don't think he feels strongly about anything except himself so he'll just jump on whatever bandwagon thinks will get him the biggest cheers at a rally & the most 'attention'.

He's a businessman not an ideologue. He isn't an adherent to any specific political dogma.

Trying to pigeon hole him to fit into any specific definition won't work because he isn't a politician. His history displays his pragmatism. He knows to get the job done you need a degree of flexibility that strict adherence to a specific ideology doesn't allow.

He's the posterboy for centrists, or as they were known in the old days, a Mugwump. Someone with their mug on one side of the fence and their "wump" on the other.

He is what he needs to be to get the deal he wants. Thinking anything else will just leave you as frustrated as all the leftest pundits and media talking heads are now.

A far right guy is Ted Cruz, Mike Pence, Rick Santorum.

Trump isn't close to that
