Interesting to see where Americans are the most and least politically prejudice. The Bay Area as well as Seattle and Portland are near the top as is Florida. New Yorkers surprisingly are quite politically open minded.

You make my point thanks. Both sides have an endless population of partisan hacks.

"Immigrants have been explicitly targeted by the current administration, "

And in America, people who live in cities (particularly affluent, older white people) can more easily construct work and home lives with people who agree with them politically. They may be cosmopolitan in some ways and provincial in others.
That's an understatement. (My emphasis)

I think that the correlation between education level and partisan intolerance is a powerful indictment of our corrupt universities. It sure blows apart the stereotype that highly educated people are more open-minded.

We can't be sure however that everyone wouldn't act like this however if they had the chance. As the article says, the demographic in question is financially able to segregate themselves. Political homogeneity could be seen as a luxury good, one that will eventually be attainable by a less rarified crowd.

Florida seems to be the worst in the nation, but the interesting thing about FL is the fact that some counties are all blue, or all red, and some in-between. The map does not show the in-between places thought.....
